Hi! I thought I'd show off something I put together quickly using LibGDX over a couple of days during the snap general election we had recently in the UK. Yes, it's a game entirely based around a pun. It's rough around the edges, but it's the first game related thing I've programmed in quite a while.

It has ridiculous programmer graphic disembodied heads cut out from photographs using GIMP.

You can play it here: https://captainbland.itch.io/public-space-evaders

I also released the source code here: https://github.com/jshulver/space_evaders

Ah British politics, how interesting. And clever name.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the game to do anything in Chrome and could only get to the text scroll in Firefox. It seems the browser's scroll event is triggering on space instead of anything in the game.... I think. I've faced similar problems before when embedding on other sites.

Thanks for your response. It's frustrating that you can't get it to work there! It "Works On My Machine" (TM) -  I've seen that behaviour before but refreshing the page and clicking on the game area fixed it for me.

I'm probably not going to do a lot more work on it now, but for future projects I'll definitely be looking at how to make sure it works properly - e.g. forcing focus. I also have it uploaded at http://publicspaceevaders.uk which might work better for you. Pressing enter/return should also work on those bits - although I don't think it'll help in the game itself.
