Story

Your sister has vanished and rumors swirl that Gaoh has been resurrected with an evil army at his command. Explore for cybernetic upgrades until you are powerful enough to defeat the diabolic Gaoh and his cybergentic army once and for all in this futuristic, action platformer!

Thanks, everyone! We are super excited to share the game with all of you Smiley Footage and all kinds of exciting announcements are coming REALLY soon. I'm not sure how well the description gets it across, but I wanted to share with all of you how the game is set up. It's basically Mega Man meets Metroid. You can play the initial 6 levels in any order and you get upgraded traversal and combat abilities when you clear a level. However, you can revisit levels that you cleared with your new upgrades and gain access to areas that you previously were unable to enter. Completing all 6 levels unlocks the final area of the game Smiley

All of the exploration elements are completely optional and you can play through the game without doing any of it. Although, you'd miss out on a lot of cool stuff if you did that :p

WOW! This game looks fantastic!  It would look even better (sprites showing up more easily and more sense of depth) if you tweaked the palette to lowered the contrast of the far and mid background a bit more. Not to reduce detail or saturation, just to make the darks a tiny bit less dark and the highlights a little less bright. Right now everything in the far and mid BG layers is almost demanding as much attention from the eye (also because it's gorgeous) as the important foreground platform areas and sprites.

Of course, this would be like polishing an already near flawless gem.


Regardless of my 2 cents, this is one of the most beautiful and exciting pixel art game projects I've ever seen. I'll certainly make sure all my friends follow the progress and I'll be among the first in line to get the full game once you release it.

woah! everything about this is so my jam. how much inspiration are you taking from Strider? and if so, which does it resemble most in terms of gameplay progression: single levels like 1, split into stages like 2?
