Well formal education is certainly no prerequisite to making good music first of all and I have been making music for almost 25 years now and every time I make a piece for a game I desperately and nervously think the same thing, lol. It doesn't matter how many projects I've done I sigh in relief every time a client accepts the piece.

Yeah this music is totally fine and particularly very good if you are literally learning how to do this just for your game. Hunting Grounds might get a bit monotonous if you are hearing it for an extended period of time but I think it's good for an average listen. I'd say keep it up and keep experimenting, you certainly have an ear for music, my friend  Wink

That's a cool combination of inspirations, I think- should turn out to be very, very interesting.

Everything looks pretty good, although I think the town square is a bit too busy with all those small, colorful tiles- kinda absorbs the character sprites.

Combat looks good, too- I'm a huge fan of charge attacks and also not having collision damage.

Boat Sailing and underwater exploration

Once players fund the town pier repairs, a boat becomes available. It can be used to sail and discover a couple unreachable locations, but also, if a diving suit is crafted, players can go underwater and explore there. Where you land at the bottom depends on where you were above water. Also, an oxygen system has been implemented for underwater ventures: You get a limited supply each day and if you exhaust it you force yourself back to the surface and have to wait until the next day to descend again.

Many years ago. smugglers used to hide in caverns behind the waterfall, some locals say. But what happened to them and their treasure?

The Harvest Moon vibe with the art and music is really cool !
I'd love to know more about the main story though, to my knowledge there's not many farming games with a good story and that's a shame.

Yes (along with literally everything else). Sadly, I don't have a formal music education and it's quite hard to compose music. I hope the game's music doesn't end up sounding awful...  Tired

It's actually quite good and fitting imo, especially for one who doesn't have training. Formal training isn't needed for art as far as I'm concerned and the more you do it, the better it will get. I'm loving those stabs and hits in the boss music!
