Hi guys!

I want to share the very first gameplay trailer for Initiative, a game I'm developing with a friend for the past year or so.

It's an online multiplayer aerospace business simulation game. Non pay to win!

I hope you like it and any comments are more than welcome!

We'll keep updating with more stuff.

Thanks!

Hi,

Really nice and professional video. I love space games personally and if you add enough options and different ways to achieve the objectives I think you could end up with a really great game. Keep up the good work.

Wow! nice thing what you've got up your sleeves  Hand Thumbs Up Left Hand Thumbs Up Right. You should have shown it much earlier, specially if you want to Kickstart the game. It's like a Kerbal Space Program right?

I like the style and colors. Didn't understand well the online multiplayer thing, how is it supposed to be? Looks more like a single player game by that trailer.

Thanks! That's our goal. We are adding enough depth to the strategy so each run is different than the other, and to give the player many important choices along the way.
For instance, the technology tree allows choices such as going for one big booster technology (such as Blue Origin's New Shepard), or multiple smaller engines (such as SpaceX's Falcon 9). Each choice as its pros and cons. Another example goes with buildings: you'll have less available spots than available buildings, so you must choose which ones to build.

We're pretty excited since we are getting a lot of technical help from specialists from NASA, SpaceX, Virgin Galactic and a few universities from their aerospace engineer career.

It will be awesome!

Thanks! Yeah, we started building our community with much more emphasis in the past month or so, although we've been working on this game for about a year.

It's not that similar to Kerbal. Whereas KSP is extremely technical and you go your way killing the little guys Smiley Initiative is more about the business management of the company. You do send stuff to outer space, but you'll also build your space station and moon outpost to further enhance your base before reaching Mars.

Also, Initiative is a multiplayer experience and many in-game elements are shared, such as the Talents you can hire to work for you. This means if you hire a specific Talent (all Talents are unique), then no one else in the server can have it (that is, until you lay him off, he goes for lack of payment, or someone poaches him Wink

There are many more multiplayer elements such as Holdings (a.k.a. Guilds), a global market to buy and sell manufactured rocket parts, and the Corporate War! Where you can attack (and defend) by sabotaging, stealing technology, poaching talents, etc.

I know the multiplayer element does not stand on the video, we'll try to create one to showcase it but it's hard when the game aims at being more massive than a 2v2. I'm sure by the time we open up our Alpha version we'll have some awesome gameplay to enjoy!

I'll keep you guys posted.

Hi guys! Finally! After more than a year of hard work, our game is now live on Kickstarter!

Developed with the technical support and consult of over 30 specialists from NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic and more!

This game would not be possible without their support and participation, and it's entirely dedicated to them: the men and women who do not need to play the game, they are living it.

Here's the link to the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/indelve/initiative-aerospace-business-and-mars-colonizatio

This is your chance to back the Initiative and take part in the development of a game you'll love. We also need your help like never before to spread the word about it. We know the game is great, but everything depends on reaching as many people as necessary to make it possible.

Be part of this! Join, share, pledge... you will be remembered Smiley

Looks like the Kickstarter is off to a great start. I think it's been timed well with all the recent space news (space X announcements, eclipse, general interest in space travel / futurism).

Best of luck. What engine is it using?

Thanks, NEED_A_JACKET!

Yes, we've been space enthusiast for quite some time, and this is our little grain of sand to the mix Smiley

We're using the Unity engine. Let me know if you want to know more about this or any other thing about the game or the campaign.

Obviously, a game about Mars colonization can't be complete without the one and only, the real Tony Stark, the alien who came from the future to improve mankind, Elon Musk.

It's almost impossible for developers like us to reach our role model, but we can do it with your help. To get Elon to step down from one of his rockets and hear us, we need you all. Using the hashtag #BringElonToInitiative, we'll make some noise and get Mr Musk to accept being a member of the Initiative. @everyone

We are sharing with you this picture, and asking for your support to achieve our goal: help us bring Elon Musk to our game, by sharing the hashtag #BringElonToInitiative on facebook and twitter and tagging @elonmusk
