Hey everyone! I've been working on this project with a small team.I haven't named the game yet but the working title is "Lover".

Lover is a third person shooter RPG Sci-Fi Fantasy Love story.it's a PC game and not a visual novel.game is being developed in unreal engine.

Storyline:
Set in the distant future, in a sci-fi city,where humans are forbidden into the forest,one man must fight against the enemies from past to get back his love to whom he is about to propose.

Look of the game:
Think of this game as a mixture of total recall(2012)(sci fi city),king kong(2005)(forest) and avatar(sci fi and forest) but it takes place on earth.

Lead Characters:



Main Villains:
There are three types of enemies 1)Organic-creatures with skin/flesh 2)Tree like creatures 3)Stone like creatures. i'm thinking about more types.


Other creatures under the command of villains.


Environment:
Environment work of both forest and sci-fi city is on going.Right now, we have this


Gameplay:
Game is mainly single player. it's a story driven open world game. player's follow different storylines all leading to the same point in the game. game starts in the city and then with twists and turns progress into forest. player(hero) wears a mech-suit/exo-skeleton and has a dog like companion with detachable head used for hovering, charging, reloading and repairing the suit.we're deciding on mechanics, combat system, upgrade and leveling system, UI, inventory, crafting and more so i'll be updating more.

Current Team:
It's a royalty project.we have an awesome team so far but we lack 3d character/creature/hardsurface artists because this is a project with no budget.game may take little longer than expected but we are hoping for the best.

Thanks and i'm sorry, game is still in concept stage.this project started 2 months back and as i mentioned, lack of 3d artists is the reason we're still in concept stage. i have contacted 100's of people for my royalty project, those who replied and who can do realistic style graphics are in my current team. prototype/demo gameplay takes 2-3 months. by that time if i could find artists then game will be developed fast.

Hey thanks! this is just first step, we'll look into different outfits during development but for the prototype we'll go with this one. Also, about 40%-60% of the game he wears mech suit so in following updates I'll post his mech suit . it's lot of work which also means lot of updates.

The art is good, I can't wait to hear more about the gameplay and the story !
Hi thank you. we're making prototype right now. I'll post in game screenshots of forest in next update. nothing too fancy, we're gonna check how well we can optimize the prototype and then build the actual environment for game. regarding gameplay and story, you'll hear more in the following updates.

Update #3

Hi everyone, its been long time since last update. i just want to mention that story is already written for this game. me and another writer are working on screenplay and characterization. we are estimating that there will be minimum of 50 different types of enemies each with their own abilities, weakness, backstory, purpose in the game etc. that's only for forest environment then there is sci-fi city.

Each enemy has its own habitat. below are the in-game screenshots of three different habitats for three types of enemies. post effects are not completely added to this forest environment. we are going to show this in crowdfunding.if we get funded, we'll make environment much more better than this.

1)Tree type enemy habitat


2)Stone type enemy habitat




3)Organic type enemy habitat

We have mixed first and third gun in the below image.

we are going to start crowdfunding campaign in few months(may be next year in march or april). if we get funded, we'll release wiki for this game.i'm planning to release official announcement trailer for this game in 1 or 2 months.it became very difficult to move this game from concept stage because of lack of 3d artists. so i started patreon by which i can hire 3d artists. if anyone interested can support us or you can follow us on social media and share our updates.

Update #4

Development is going slow but we're giving everything we've got.there are no posts lately but we're focused on quality rather than quantity. now we have concept art of frog like enemy. it's known for poison attack. it can create poison from it's own body. this enemy uses the poison in it's gun and poison-grenade. below is the art & sketches from other angles.



We are working on different characters in the forest. below is one of the fantasy forest human character in sci-fi world.


We are also working of mech suit for our main lead character. along with the suit he has a robo dog like companion with detachable head. below you can see some rough sketches. we haven't decided on anything yet and working on more sketches for the suit.

Project is finally back on track. i had few artists before and i hired few others. modelling of characters, creatures, hard surface, environment, weapons etc is going on simultaneously. i also got new screen writer, sound designer and AI programmer. we all working on the demo for crowdfunding. The most important work that need to be done is marketing, once the demo completes. Before that i want to create a community around this game, however small it may be. so i started a discord server few days back. whoever reading this and finds this project interesting are welcome to join our discord. Demo/Prototype game has two environments, forest and sci-fi city. i have few more updates on enemy creatures of forest. we didn't name these creatures yet.


1)Lizard (Organic enemy)

It holds a laser gun with a chain saw attached to it. it shoots laser bullets and also melee attacks with chain saw.


2)Mushroom(Tree Like Enemy)

These enemies live in like herds. it emits acidic petals when ruptured with metal or with each other conduct electricity. Tree boss uses this enemy to create high energy electric wave.

3)Defender(Tree Like Enemy)

These enemies live in multiple groups and can defend any area.

4)Rock Level 1(Stone Like Enemy)

It attacks by rolling towards player. it can throw rocks at player.

5)Rock Level 2(Stone Like Enemy)

It attacks by charging towards player. it can levitate stones on its back and hit the player.

6)Rock Boss(Stone Like Enemy)

It can charge towards player. it can shoot fire bullets. it can send high energy heat wave towards player. it can throw lava from its back.

For those who have read previous posts of this project might know its not a paid project so development is slow. i didn't update for a long time because few artists wasted last 2-3 months. project is still moving but slowly. demo will be available next year.

For this update i have mech suit art to show you. it'll get attached with several weapons in the final game.it also has several textures and parts that we can upgrade.

the above suit will have a robo dog(with detachable head) as companion.
mech suit modelling and dog artwork is going on.

Another update is modelling and rigging of almost all characters and creatures is completed. we are now in animation stage.

I couldn't give any updates about this game for the last 6 months because of my health. I'm recovered now and will start working on this project.
To recap details about the game, it has two environments, sci fi city and fantasy forest.below male model is our hero, who's a police and operates in some sector in the city.



it is forbidden for the city people to go into the forest.

When it comes to gameplay in forest environment our hero uses below mech suit with 3 colors variations used for the demo.





Below image shows small update on hands design


Our hero has a robo dog as companion. it has detachable head. details about the suit and the dog will be described in later updates.

As mentioned in previous posts, there are three types of enemies in forest environment.
1)Organic
2)Tree
3)Stone

Now the mech suit needs different kind of guns to shoot different kind of enemies.

Below is a pistol which is used to shoot organic enemy


Below is a pistol which is used to shoot tree type enemy. it can emit fire bullets. you can also see fuel cylinder to refill the gun.


Below is a pistol which is used to shoot stone type enemy. it can shoot several grenade type bullets at once which explodes on contact with the enemy.


Similarly for rifle,
For organic enemy


For tree type enemy


For stone type enemy


Some levels in the game have all types of enemies. in this case below gun is used which emits all types of bullets using same gun.


Above guns are used just for the prototype/demo. actual guns in the final game will be much much better.

Since 3 months i have been working on player locomotion,jumping,aiming,shooting etc in unreal engine.today i present to you few of them.

Below is the movement, start stops and jumping of player and of course player mesh will be changed to police
