Genre: 2d platformer + puzzle
Technology: Adobe AIR

Hi all!
This is a game I creating in my spare time. Work title is Bumpy Spider named after it’s forgotten prototype called Bumpy Arcade Fantasy which was released in 1992 by Loriciels. The Bumpy Spider is a 2D platformer with some puzzle elements.

Besides the game itself I’m also creating a game level editor.
At this moment I’m almost done with coding and going to dive into levels creation and adding more content to the game.
Sounds effects and music still missing.

So, take a peek at early gameplay:

And this is a timelapsed footage of game level creation using my editor:

I really like the art direction. Grin However looking at the spider jumping constantly even when it's not moving is probably going to bore me quite fast.

I hope it will not  Wink, because a game session going to be short. It should take a minute or even less to complete a level.

Me, David Williamson and Mark Foster do an Indie Games podcast. Give it a listen. And then I'll send you an apology.

Love it, very charming!
That editor is sick as well, did you write the UI library for it as well?
Quite curious about all the tech you're using!

Thank you!
The game is using Adobe AIR technology and Actionscript 3.0.
For UI I'm using third party library, it is called minimal_comps it's very neat, simple and extremely easy to use and extend.
Starling framework is used for graphics. Skeletal animaton is done by DrgonBones library.
For physics I'm using Nape Physics engine.

Great work!
I like the bouncing animation very much, especially that the platform is bouncing with spider.
Small detail, but it pleases my eyes Smiley
