Would be glad to have your feedback about those 28 tunes from unfinished video game projects of mine > https://izioq.bandcamp.com/album/music-to-play-in-your-head

I've tried several time to create my own simple video game with some game engine... and, of course, I've always failed.
However I'm pretty satisfied with all the short looped music I've made over the years and I truly love them.
So I've decided to make this compilation: you can now listen to this music and "play the game in your head..."

All the tracks on this album were made with the purpose of being part of some games & I've made them how I like my game's music: melodic, short & looped...

You'll find here influences from lots and lots of SNES music (Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country, Zelda, Secret of Mana, etc.) but also Mario 64 & Super Mario Galaxy, Animal Crossing, Yume Nikki... and even a bit of Undertale on one track (I've never played it but the OST is brilliant).

I really hope you'll like these short tunes as much as I do!

And if you want to use them in your free games, feel free to do so as long as you credit me somewhere in the game with a link to my bandcamp Wink ( and if it's for a commercial games then mail me at izioqmusic(at)gmail(dot)com )

Thanks, take care!

izioq

P.S: I haven't give up though, I'll make my game one day!

I'm playing the album at work (in a bookstore) and I really like it. The songs are soothing and nice! I'm not a musician so I don't have a lot of specific feedback but some of it just reminds me of the more chill tracks from Cave Story.

The game I'm playing in my head is one that's very relaxing and meant to induce a state of meditative comfort. Maybe a cute little platformer where you can't die, and just meet happy characters going about their lives in a sweet, sunny world? Hahaha. I think the world could use more games like that, like Brie Code talks about here. Games that care for you, instead of always having to challenge and excite!

Hot take: You really should actually play Undertale!

Planning to buy the album later today when I can dig up my PayPal password. (Damn it.) Would you be okay with me using the tracks as background music for dev livestreams?

Cool to imagine my album being played in a bookstore ^^ Thanks for your kind message!

Funny coincidence as the games I had in mind were definitely in the vibe you describe: platformers, no "real" challenge, no death, very atmospheric, etc.

Concerning paypal: any dotation are highly appreciate but the album is free / name your price so no need of paypal password Wink

P.S: you can definitely use my music in streams or videos as long as you credit my somewhere with a link to my bandcamp.
Thanks again for the support!!

Playing the music again this morning and my bookstore coworker told me,

Quote from: Erika
I feel like I'm playing Mario, but like in one of the in between worlds, where you have all the doors, and if you just stand there Mario will fall asleep

Very nice ! All these tracks are actually surprinsingly homogenous in style and atmosphere, they could all be from the same game, which in my opinion is an awesome achievement ! :D Hand Thumbs Up Right
