I agree. The last scenes look really nice, i like the blue hues. I'd really like to know how the first scenes look like now, after some iterations. I'm still wondering about the character design, is he wearing a bandage around his head, or is it partially colored in white/gray?

Edit: By the way, is there a hidden message in the logo, i'm not getting? Why is the first letter an L?

Thank you for your feedback.

In future we will upload some before/after screenshots of our scenes we changed.
The character is wearing a bandage  Smiley

It´s not a L, it´s a 7. And yes there is a hidden message. Also in the game are some more hidden messages. You´ll find out by playing the game.

Glad that some people think about the logo.

Nice to see you're still alive. I like the style, and I'm curious how the gameplay will turn out. My personal grief, though, is the name: "Insane" was an offroad racing game back in 200x that I played to death at LAN parties with my friends.

It looks good. Very atmospheric! I immediately thought of Limbo. Is there going to be a background music or do you solely rely on soundscapes and sound effects to create the mood? I like the name and love the logo. Not too easy and not too hard to crack. Eager to see more secret messages inside the game, will they have any game play effects?

Thanks for your detailed and positive feedback. Especially thanks for your compliments for the logo.
Limbo and Inside are some of our inspirations.
We will also include music to enhance the atmosphere (e.g. ambient drone music).
There will be several secret messages inside the game, which effects will influence the story (e.g. butterfly effects).

How do the butterfly and insane effects work in the game? I noticed them being mentioned several times in the thread, but without any explanations. Would you like to shed some light on this or is it something to be revealed later?

INZANE EFFECT:

The INZANE effect will play an indirect but important role.
Like every mentally unstable person, this experiment also has to struggle with mental problems. The effect expresses the sick psyche of our main character. The suffering. The paranoia. The urge for redemption.

It's hard to describe it without giving something away. You will learn about it in the course of the game through visuals and the behaviour of the character.

BUTTERFLY EFFECT:

An untypical butterfly effect. Unlike other games wich suddenly introduce you to two (or multiple) decisions, our game warns you of an upcoming butterfly effect. It's like in real life: No decision possibility, decisions out of your gut, decisions can't be undone. Sometimes there are more than two decisions. Even small ones can have a huge impact through the game.

If a butterfly effect occurs, you will recognize it by butterflies appearing around the character. The more butterflies, the more aggressive the effect.

Hey guys,

a new update.
We would like to show you the difference between our 2D game and conventional 2D games.
The environment of INZANE has become much more depth during the development process.
We worked on this for almost 6 years now and collected a lot of good feedback.

Just for clarification everything is in 2D nothing was modeled in 3D, that's what makes it so special.
