Well you know what is more annoying? Having no texture or any color in the blocks. But I got this from the java console.
Failed to initialize device Wacom Virtual Hid Driver because of: java.io.IOException: Failed to acquire device (8007001e)

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but with a Mac and a tablet, my cursor is sliding all over the place!  I can barely even build anything without the screen starting to whiz around.

Surely that isn't because you are doing something stupid like trying to use a tablet to play. After all mice and tablets work exactly the same way!

Awesome game it kept me playing for atleast an hour and a half!

too bad I made a really big tree house with furniture and everything, but I couldnt save Sad

I really liked the flooding thing, I made a huge mine in the backyard(of my treehouse) and I found a bunch of gold! but then I broke a wall and it all got flooded Sad

9/10 stars! I would like to see more 'physics'. I dont mean complete physics like rotations, I just dont want to have random block floating in the air since the only way to delete those is to make a tower under your feet to reach them.

still, amazing game!

http://notch.tumblr.com/post/121044061/in-the-spirit-of-the-new-economy

Quote from: Notch
I’m going to start up pre-purchases of the game soon, at a discount of the full price.

The full game will be €20, but if you pre-purchase while it’s in alpha, you get it for just €9.95. If you wait until beta (ie when survival mode is released), the price goes up to €14.95. If you wait until release (after survival mode works well), you’ll have to pay full price.

If you don’t want to pay (or can’t), there will be a free demo after beta. Either way, you will be able to play the game as you do now for free up until release. I will however include some benefits for pre-purchases.

Here’s what you get for purchasing:

* You help fund development of Minecraft.
* Custom skins in multiplayer, starting very soon.
* All future updates of the game, including all expansions and addons. You never have to pay again.
* Once you’ve bought the game, it’s yours. Do whatever you want with it!
* Survival mode

Expansions include (these will happen after release):
+ Zombie Siege
+ Capture the Flag
+ Various level importers. (I’ve already got a doom level importer working.. kinda. :D)
+ AND MORE!

Resell the copy you bought...I guess you could but I bet it will be tied to your account.

buy it when it's still in development and you'll get it half price, sounds like a good deal to me.

Unless it stays in alpha for a year then gets dropped.

I can't add blocks, except in certain strange positions. Sad

WinXP SP2
Firefox2
Latest Java installed.

If you need more info, please tell me how I can help.

Also a suggestion: Put the controls in a 2 column table so they're always present for you to see while you are still playing (to avoid having to press esc-scroll down-scroll up-and return to the game).

Well, the way I see it Notch has already been relentlessly updating this game which is pretty impressive seeing as I am sure he started this with the intention of it being a little diversion project. However, the game is getting much more popular and I think that to implement everything that we have all been talking about for the game (read from the beginning of this thread) it would be beneficial for him to request something in return due to the countless hours upon hours Notch has already poured into the game. I don't think that $20 is unreasonable for a game that will eventually let you build your own dungeons to share and crawl with other players and all of the other various modes being implemented as well.

Personally I am glad he decided to charge a little bit for the game. With how hard Notch is working on this game I wouldn't want him to get burned out and abandon the game because of the pressures of maintaining it.

Hell, this is a no-brainer for me. Minecraft is some of the most fun I have had with a game in awhile and it's just going to keep getting better. Keep up the great work Notch Beer!

Roblox is a similar but free game.

20 bucks is the price for Portal or Half life 2. I think it's cool that the author gets some cash for his work, but 20 euro is a bit excessive.

Maybe keeping it free but charging for some cool extra features will "keep the flow" going towards the game (publicity), and he can get some cash out of it.

it would actually be about $28 and £18, which now looking at it does seem expensive as the game stands atm. Although it may be ok when the game is finished though.
