Hey all,

I’m looking for some feedback on my new prototype Cryospace Online.

It is a scifi MMO still in the early stages.

Please check the requirements for Windows and Linux before downloading.

The areas that I'm most interested in your feedback are:

  • Camera controls (both ship and base)
  • Flight controls for ship
  • if UI is intuitive / easy to use
  • Any extra feedback is very welcome

Feel free to use the in-game feedback and bug reporting system via F8 key.  It will automatically take a screenshot and attach it.

Thanks for you help!

Hi all,

I've added several new parts to the prototype.

Electronic part system for your ship is now functional.  You can upgrade and replace damaged parts via the engine room.

A basic fabrication (crafting) system now setup to allow you to make replacement parts and new items for your starbase.

Lots of improvements to other areas of the game.  I'm still looking for feedback so please check it out and let me know what you think.

Cheers

  • Added some new object customization for starbases
  • Improved net code
  • Added more textures and materials
  • Lots of bug fixes

I'm looking for feedback and play testers.  Cheers!  Beer!

This looks really cool. Can you maybe post a video? I really don't understand what the game is about from just the screenshots.

Hi,

I'll try and make a short video about it.  Not the greatest at making videos and hate my software. Smiley

You can read more details about the game, it's story, current development state/etc. from the website: https://www.astralbyte.co.nz/Cryospace/.

Sorry I'm not the best at videos, but this should give you some idea:

I had the chance to play a little bit but I couldn't figure out how to get past the Ouch, Repair Time mission. I installed as many parts as I could into each component but the quest would not complete.

It was fun for the small amount I played though.

Hi and thanks for testing!  I took a quick look and it seems you have one stick of memory in your inventory.  Those are the thin blue rectangles with the smaller black chips on it.  It should go into any of the gun turrets or the hyperdrive.  Installing that should complete the quest.

However, I'd like to know if you had a bug where you couldn't see the part in your inventory window on the left of the engine room screen?  The game is still very early but I'd like to have that quest highlight the possible slots when you hover over a part.  Please let me know how it goes and do use the F8 (feedback) as it attaches a screenshot to the report.

I'm very happy you enjoyed it so far and hope this gets you sorted. Cheers!
