Thanks! Next update(s) will focus on these things:
- Exclamation point above the fish if it notices your hook/bobber.
- Fish swims to bobber after noticing the bobber
- Fish hooked! And it'll start fighting to break free.
- Prompts for the player to pull in opposite directions that the fish is swimming to keep it hooked.
- (Optional) Stamina bar for player and a healthbar on fish showing how close you are to catching it.
- (Optional) Reeling in button. This might just be automatic as you fight the fish to pull it in.
- Failed to catch the fish animations (and fish disappears OR swims far away)
- Success catching the fish! Witty description. Encyclopedia entry (size, type, etc).
We'll see how that goes. I should have some gifs ready once I make some progress on each of those items. If anyone has suggestions or ideas lemme know! I'm only working on the Fishing Rod at the moment, but there will be:
- Bare-handed fish catching (in shallow water)
- Harpoon fish (in shallow water)
- Net fishing (in shallow water/off the dock)
- Fishing Rod (currently in progress - saltwater OR freshwater)
- Fly Fishing (similar to Fishing Rod but different technique)
- Scuba Diving (ocean)
- Deep Sea Fishing (on a boat in the open sea - think Moby Dick)
