Heartwarming cinematic there, but what kind of game is it?

Well that gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, the game looks beautiful. On another, that beast looks... weird. I think it's the little wings that throw me off. And I really don't get what type of game this is going to be.
Oh well, time will tell more. Besides, I don't even have a PS3.

Does it matter considering their pedigree?

Ok so in the first title, you helped out a helpless girl while running around a closed castle. In the second title, in vast areas, you climbed on giants beasts to stab them to death. So in this one... You are helped by a giant beast that you can climb on so you can go through a closed castle and vast areas? Right now, I'm not sure what to think. Looks good but I wonder if its gonna feel to much like a mix of old stuff or if its gonna be interesting. Good thing I have a PS3

Ahhh! As soon as that kid turned up it all clicked. Ico > Nico > Trico (should really be Sanco, but whatever, I guess thats a WIP title anyway).
Well, I dunno, maybe it is all starting to look a little too familiar. But fuck it, given Ueda's track record, this game has essentially set the countdown to me finally getting a PS3.

Beautiful video! I want to play it by default. I own a PS3, so I sure hope it's worth it.

Also, from Wikipedia: Movie director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) has cited both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus as "masterpieces" and part of his directorial influence. I didn't know that. Props to del Toro!

I thought the 'beast' was a good mixture of cute, and 'uncanny valley'. It kinda is like a big dog, or something, but isn't at the same time. So, it kinda feels 'familiar', but still different and fantastic. That's good!
This game looks really interesting so far, and I think it's different enough from the past games. Ooh ooh, it's in castle, and has a big animal! That's not enough 'similarity' for it to feel old.

Nobody is sure this is real yet. It could be very old, promotional footage that's used by the devs to show the big-ups at Sony how the game's coming along, so the fact that the music was actually taken from another source might be simply because this was never meant to be public.
Lets hope they give us the REAL teaser at E3. Then I'll die happy, and ask a necromancer to bring me back and give me a PS3.

Awesome! Can't wait for this. I don't think I was the only one who thought he should stab him when he climbed on his head.

Ico and SotC both had concept videos made by Ueda in Lightwave beforehand, to try to capture the mood of the piece before they started working on the game proper, and to act as a reference point as they developed it.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is another one.

this is more likely than anything, unfortunately even the playstation 1 version of ico looked incredible...this did not have that same effect. essentially no current game on the ps3 has really tapped into all that processing power and i was expecting team ico to be one of the first...unless this is just a promotional video.
