Yeah.

Well, I finally got around to digging into Etrian Odyssey recently; for those unfamiliar with it, it's a DS game in the vein of Eye of the Beholder or the early Wizardry games. Turn-based movement and menu-combat, lots of right angles, et cetera et cetera.

Got to wondering if there might be something in this style but in a sci-fi vein instead; whether that means scouring the interiors of old space wrecks or alien cities with your trusty guns 'n' robots, or however it might be presented. Just.. something other than swords and magics. -.-

Anyway. Something indie and/or open-source would be preferred, but really anything that fits the bill would be interesting to see.

Albion is the closest thing I know of, though only the first twenty minutes or so are in an actual sci-fi setting.
Atleast you get to see aliencheetahgirl's bare breasts :D.

Oh yeah, there's also Robinson's Requiem.
But if you play it, be prepared to be confused and die alot.

real art looks like the mona lisa or a halo poster and is about being old or having your wife die and sometimes the level goes in reverse

More oldies:

Space Hulk comes to mind.
And one of my all time faves (not turn based though): System Shock.

I really really liked Captive. Dungeon crawl in space with upgradeable robots... what could be coolers?

Ahh, and Hired Guns is another good sci-fi dungeon crawler. You control the 4 party members individually.

I've actually got a copy of Albion on CD around here... somewhere. Picked it up off a bargain shelf forever ago and never got around to really messing with it. Will have to dig it up again.

And Captive seems to be the exact kinda thing I was looking for, actually! I'll have to spend some time playing around with it. Thanks a tonne! I had begun to think that I was doomed to fantasy for my first-person dungeon crawlin'.

Shin Megami Tensei I & II are completely ace.

Edit: Err, but, you aught to know that these games have a really engaging storys, so I would be hesitant to call them dungeon crawlers.

The Megami Tensei series are sorta-sci-fi (they deal with alternate dimensions and modern day Japan) and some of them have first-person dungeons.
