Very cool! I've been looking forward to seeing how movement will work. Curious - will the player eventually be able to control the ship while its underground? Or is it more like, you assign the ship to go somewhere, etc, and then the underground stuff happens on its own?

Thanks! Pretty much how you said it - once you are underground you can either stay there or select a landing site and the ship will go there by itself.

On Board of the Drillship

Hey everyone! We're currently working on the section between wagons (gangway) to make sure player can walk through it smoothly at all times. Here's a little showcase of the model before we implement it into Unity.

The gangway is a replacement for the old joint (1st picture) that was connecting the wagons. There were some issues where players weren't able to walk through it. Now with the gangway, everything is working fine.  Coffee

Side Modules

Hey everyone! Hope you had great holidays and the whole Volcanoids team wishes you Happy New Year! Coffee

Here's the progress of the drill-ship interior. First, we got all the models we needed and implemented them into our test scene inside Unity. Then we made sure that building was working properly. After that, we started working on some basic destruction. Testing the destruction was a lot of fun. Just for testing purposes, we made a hammer that destroys everything on one hit. Then we just filled the drillship with as many structures as possible and the fun began.

Here are few screenshots and also GIFs of the progress we made. Hope you like it!

Hey everyone! Worked on the drillship model a bit. Had to resize it because there were some problems with space. Once player started adding modules, the interior was getting way too narrow and cramped. Also wanted to make the shapes more smooth and consistent. Here are few screenshots and comparison to the old model.
