Neat. I heard there was a mac version coming but I was afraid it was going to be a really long time.

Guess I'll finally be playing this.

Got it, played it, liked it, thought about it, criticized it.
I have a lot to say about it, but I should really be getting to bed.

Note: For people who don't know about the secret star thing, don't put the world 3* puzzle together, as you need to arrange some of the pieces in a special way to get a secret, and if you connected those pieces to other pieces you'll have to start the game over. Nrfhhh.

* ...which is the 2nd world you play on. So confusing.

Isn't that 80 vertical pixels too many?

No. You can never have too many pixels.

This was very much worth the wait :D

I did find myself having to install USB Overdrive before I could really enjoy it.

This might be the wrong thread, but... I don't get Braid... the animated backgrounds were a nice suprise, because before I saw them on my Mac, I considered the game to be ugly as hell with a really weird choice of main character... and I guess that last bit hasn't changed.

I much prefer Aquaria. I think that's a more impressive game in nearly every way. Would be neat to see that released on PSN/XBLA as well. But this might be off-topic now.

Really? You're standards must be incredibly high if you consider this "ugly as hell".
I think the game's amazing. From a designer and gamer standpoint. I'm just glad I can run it without having to use Parallels now.  Smiley

I don't think I've gotten far enough to see the more complex aspects of the time reversing thing, but so far, my reaction is Sands of Time meets a poor Super Mario clone.

The actual controls and jumping is very awkward for me using keyboard. The elasticity of the acceleration and speed of the character rubs me the wrong way somehow.

So I guess the answer is no. I'll stick to Aquaria then. Wink

The first world is definitely a very sands of time/mario thing, but all it really does is introduce you to the simplest mechanics in the game. Each world has a different type of time manipulation and the game is in no way limited to simple... jump -> fall on spikes -> rewind -> jump again -> Succeed! It's much more complex and mind-bending than that. You really have to play further.

Will the demo allow me to do this? So far, it has failed utterly to make me interested at all in the game.

You can play the entire first world and a few chunks of the second and third in the demo, before the dinosaur tells you: stop it, you have to buy this game to continue.

So maybe you don't like puzzle/platformer games? To each his own.
