I've never made a game before, but I'm going to give it a go. Planning on making it in Gamemaker for simplicity. Starting with some of the art. Also never done pixel art before so I've been chipping away at this simple walking animation for a couple hours... Liking the way it's turned out so far, just need to add more frames now!

Hi everybody!

I'm just working in a new game idea, writing the main concept and so the script about a game based in a combination of strategy and FPS with RTT. I wanna create a dystopia where people live among factions. World's gone to hell and there are some rare creatures walking around. I know that doesn't sound quite original, but once a end with the script, I'd show you some concept arts.

I played a little with raymarching/volumetric rendering today. Surprisingly easy to get into, although it sure gobbles resources if you aren't careful.

Made a game over the weekend to get better at robust code, so now here's an exercise in making things for easier object-based level design.

Player object, Solid Wall object, a Square/Volume that overrides player controls and switches modes from Overworld (P1 is orange) to Battle System (P1 is blue), and a similar Square/Volume that ends in a Room Transition instead:
