Welcome to Area 86

Area 86 is a physics-based game, that lets you control a robot at a secret place in space.
From simple item moving to custom imagined solutions with item picking, throwing, combining and activating!
Explore & examine all possibilities each place has to offer and do your best to get further.
But remember, each action has consequences and thus could break or make something unexpected.

Main features:
  • Physics-based gameplay with no bugs or whatsoever
  • Tasks that give you more clue on how to do things wrong
  • Controllable robot who can be blamed for all consequences
  • Secret places and hidden objects for extra challenge
  • Possibility to interact with almost any object

What can you find in the free downloadable version:
One fully completable level with 6 tasks and 2 hidden special items to discover.
From the task list, 2 are main tasks which you should complete to get further and then there are 4 other tasks that should challenge your thinking.
One of the secret items is visible instant, but you need to figure out how to collect it, while the other special item is hiding.
Another extra feature is visual hints, that should force your thinking of discovering features.

Feedback time:
What do you think about Area 86?
Was the level too hard?
Did you manage to complete all 6 tasks?
About hidden special items, did you collect both of them?
Maybe you found some bugs or have suggestions?

Let me know!  Wink

What do you think about Area 86?
pretty cool! the AI part of the story doesn't make sense tho!

Was the level too hard?
no! if anything it was too easy, but I think it is a good first level! this level is a good really good tuterial, I would make the task mandatory since they teach you the mechanics.

Did you manage to complete all 6 tasks?
yes, the throwing task needed trial and error (or maybe I missed something in the tutorial you had)

About hidden special items, did you collect both of them?
yes.

Maybe you found some bugs or have suggestions?
didn't find any

I liked it! The intro really sucked me in because I'm super into space and it gave a good context to the level. It really felt like the start of something maybe big.

Was the level too hard?
No, but see my answer beneath.

Did you manage to complete all 6 tasks?
I completed 4 of them! Maybe I'm doing something wrong but after you've turned on the machine you're not able to turn it off again. Which makes it impossible to put the box in. Maybe this is conscious level design, so you have to play it twice, but I wished I could've taken the orange energy thingy out of the machine.  And my second issue was that I was not able to throw any box away. It just sort of fell. Again, maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

About hidden special items, did you collect both of them?
Only one of them! On the shelf thing.

Maybe you found some bugs or have suggestions?
No real bugs, it was pretty steady! A thing that bothered/confused me was the sound effect when you pick up a box. The first 5 times it sounded like an 'error' sound, like I couldn't pick up the box. Sometimes I couldn't pick up a box because something was in the way and then the same sound played, so it was extra confusing.

Good luck and I hope I've been of any help! Thanks for letting me play your game!
