Hello,

I've uploaded a music pack (and planning to upload more things in the next months) to asset stores: Unity, UE4, Scirra, GameDevMarket.

Since I only uploaded a music pack, I'm not 100% if this can be a succesful business, meaning that I can make at least... 500€ every month from sales on asset stores.

So, the main question is, are developers really trusting this websites to buy music and sound for their games? or they get the audio files from other places?

I suppose that the main target of this stores, regarding music & SFX, is developers that are starting, indie developers, indie companies... and a lot of times, this listed here collaborate with a composer for bespoke music directly.

What are your thoughts? Have you sold music assets or SFX assets to this stores? what is your experience?

Thanks^^

Speaking as someone who's tried selling on the Unity Asset Store years ago, whether your work will sell at all or not through that approach really depends. I personally never made a single sale before I requested my own assets be pulled, which also means I have no experience with people expressing concerns about how to use them, but then again, I admit the quality of my music has improved since I made those assets.

Hi all,

Yes, I say it is possible to make at least 500€ every month from sales on asset stores but to hit that amount, it takes time and patience! Currently we have 24 audio packs on the various asset stores and we started around Feb 2016. I will be writing a blog post about the Pros and Cons based on our experience from these 4 main asset stores soon! I will update the thread with the blog link once it's done and hopefully it will be helpful to you Smiley

That was a great informative blog. Thanks!

Personally I have been been selling music packs on Unity Asset Store since Sept 17. From my two products I get sales every month but nothing significant. I have one pack for free which has had >500 downloads which has resulted in four 5-star ratings. http://u3d.as/LtZ

I have 3 more packs in the making and a little more work to do before I expect a bit more momentum Coffee
