Hey everyone,
This is a cross-post from /r/gamedev so I apologise if you're seeing this for a second time...
As I have been working on marketing my current game, I put together a simple web based tool to help me with it. The core concept if fairly simple: I have an input box which lets me search Youtube for videos with a given phrase, and lists the details of the channels that posted them (name, URL, subscriber count, last upload date, etc). I can then view the channel and see if it's a good fit for my game (i.e. it covers similar kinds of games). Finally I can approve or reject it (which means that channel won't show up in future searches).
I have found this to be really helpful and reduce the time it takes to build and maintain the list considerably. I can also already see a lot of useful extensions to it such as tracking correspondence and key assignments to creators, getting alerts, and integrating with more sites such as Twitch.
Anyway I'm trying to get a feel for if this is a big enough problem and is worth offering this as an online service. Would love to hear your thoughts and I have also setup a signup form here:
