Haha, yeah! Bulwarks are the bosses in the game, and I love the word for some reason! Hyper Beta Bulwark definitely rolls off the tongue, but I'm looking for something more cheesy/over the top, like the game itself Thank you so much for responding though, appreciate it greatly.

After a break of two weeks I'm back! I've been through some personal stuff that has made me change the way I see my game and its development. This game started with a very reduced scope and a clear goal: release my first own game on Steam. I already have a full-time job on the industry so the time and energy I have to spend on Galactic Bulwark Strike is limited. However, I began to be so excited about how the game was turning out that I started to plan greater and greater things for it, like roguelike elements, a map to explore, etc. Which is utter nonsense considering the game is as simple and ridiculous as it gets. It's a fucking shooter arkanoid for god's sake So now we are back to the roots. The game will have a linear progression through levels where you defeat enemies and face a boss, and then onto the next one until you die or finish the game. GBS will be what it was meant to: an over the top game where you shoot stuff and hit a ball!
The only kind of progression that I have planned besides that is being able to spend the score points on upgrading weapons, pretty simple stuff. Thanks for reading!

Just played a full run of all the content currently in the game (3 levels + boss). It takes about 9 minutes to complete, so I'd say it's not that bad. I even recorded it for posterity
Right now I'm still adding more powerups. The current list is: I don't want all the weapons to feel just the same so I try to give each powerup a distinct feel and purpose. What do you think about this? Do you have any cool ideas?

New weapon idea! The wall laser. Hitting the ball against the walls spawns a sweeping laser. I think I will keep this one, seems fun to play with
