Alakajam! is a young community aiming at hosting regular game jams & other gamedev-related events. Our main competitions are about making a game in 48 hours, either solo or as a team, for the pleasure of competition and having people review your game.

F.A.Q.

How many people will actually play my game?

There's an algorithm in place to make sure all contestants get actual feedback on their game: as long as you take some time to actually comment & rate other games, your game will be featured higher in the site until you get some comments back.

A typical entry can expect ten to twenty reviewers.

How do I get in the loop?

If you're interested, you can follow the event on Twitter or Reddit, and of course register on the website. You can also follow things more closely by joining us on our IRC channel (#alakajam on irc.afternet.org) or even Github!

2nd Alakajam (February 23-25th)

Schedule overview

February 9-23rdTheme selection      For a week, you will get to suggest ideas for what the theme of the week-end will be, and vote on the other suggestions. The top 10 will then be chosen for a final round of voting!
February 23-25th (7pm UTC)THE JAM!As the theme is revealed, you have exactly 48 hours to finish your game, either solo or as a team. Late entrants can submit late in an out-of-competition category.
February 25th - March 11thVoting & FeedbackAfter a two-week long phase of playing & rating each other's games, all votes made by the community are smashed together and shaked to produce the final rankings Smiley
