At its core, this untitled project is super simple, and outside of its core, it still is. You’re a lander, a little ship that’s built for landing on planetary bodies. That’s all you do, you land on planets.

However, this won't be made easy for you. As you land on more planets:

Asteroids, ship debris, and other obstacles will start spawning in with increased frequency.

The planets will start to rotate at faster speeds, or with variable changes.

Planets will start to gain hazards of their own, like lava lakes or elevation changes and slopes.

And potentially more to come.

The lander will be controlled with a vertical thrust and left and right thrusts. The entire game will be set in a minimalistic style. Possibly pixel art, but I’m open to changes.

And honestly, that’s about it. It will be a fun little mobile game. Beat your score while you sit down and play a few rounds. It’s like a refreshing snack, not a full course meal.

Here's a little bit of what we have so far. We have planet rotation left or right and variable speeds, movement controls, variable gravity, and a planet!

Quick and simple mobile games can definitely feel very refreshing! This seems like a fun little concept that has great flexibility in its depth. There are so many things you could customize such as the size of the planet, what's on the surface, and things in orbit.

How far out will the lander usually start out? Will the planet be in view at the beginning, or do you work your way through space first?

You won't have to try and find the planet, it'll always be in the center of the screen, but you'll have to navigate through asteroids and ship debris to get to it. A lot of your ideas we are already in the process of implementing actually, but it's good to know these are things people would want to see! If you're interested in checking things out, we have a discord, just message me for the link.

We've demonstrated some things in the gif
*You cannot go up after a certain limit, we can make it so after that certain limit a planet spawns.
*When you land the lander moves with the planet at the same speed the planet does (somewhat the same speed)

We've made some more planets made them fit the game's pixel-y style. We also added a few routes for asteroids, but we can't collide with them yet.
