- HAYFEVER -
The Allergy Platformer



Thomas is an overworked Postman with hayfever and a ton of Allergies.
Follow Thomas on this strange and high-paced journey about sneezing, platforming and overtime!


Hayfever was originally started in the summer of 2017 during a game jam.
We enjoyed playing our creation and saw potential in it. So we decided to show it at local events.
The game was well received so that motivated us to go on with developing this game.

We are currently in pre-alpha and will be showing off the game at a competition in Sweden.
5 out of 8 participants will end up going to Gamescom. Follow our journey in this thread Smiley !

We are getting there..
Almost reworked all of that game jam code!

Highlights:

- More new art and animations
- All sneeze mechanics are back into the game
- 4 new levels
- Parallax

Stuff we will focus on going forward:

- Balancing sneeze mechanics
- Adding more levels
- Balancing current levels
- Fixing up all art needed for world 1
- More feedback animations and sound
- Adding the music back in

Looks like a very charming game. Do you have to avoid enemies, or can you attack them with sneezes or by jumping on them?

You can't kill anything in the game. It's very pure in that way. You will however be able to jump on enemies and distract them in different ways.

First enemy in the game will be a scarecrow. More on that later Smiley

PLAYTEST TIME!
We are currently in a closed alpha, so please send me a message in this thread or by PM.

Here we go!
The very first Hayfever build since the prototype last summer!
First I want to thank all playtesters for participating. We are very grateful for taking the time to play and feedback our game. You are a big, important part of the development!

== PATCH NOTES ==
Version: Alpha 0.0.1

What's new (since prototype):
- Gamepad support
- New platformer engine
- Complete revamp of the player controller
- New art (only in level 1 so far)
- Polished animations
- .. basically everything that was in the prototype but better execution

Keyboard controls:
Movement = W, A, S, D
Jump = Space or W
Aim = Mouse
Sneeze = LMB

Touch pad is not recommended.

Gamepad Controls:
(XBox controller is recommended)
D-pad + Left Stick = Movement
Jump = A or LT (Left Trigger)
Aim = Right Stick
Sneeze = RT (Right Trigger)

There are currently no "Exit Game" so use Alt+F4 for that.

Info about Feedback
We want to know what you like with the game, and what you think could be improved.
Also report any bugs you find and tell us what happened, and preferably how we can recreate this bug.

Did you get stuck?
Was a certain level hard, in that case what part?
How did it feel controlling the character? Was it difficult? Was it comfortable/uncomfortable?
What would you like to see in the game? Any suggestions or requests?
