We are currently a team of two: myself, (a pixel artist / animator) and a coder. We're in the early stages of building a 2d Souls-Troid-Vania, and would like to start experimenting with some level design.

"Wait, wut? If the game is 2d, why do you want someone with 3d skills?"

The idea is to build a connected, real-feeling world in "3d" (a la Dark Souls, but much more simple) and use that to construct the in-game, 2d scenes. The individual 2d scenes would be orthographic projections of the 3d world spaces (somewhat similar to Fez).

A few examples:
In this render, each orange and pink line represents the 2d player movement axis for a single scene. The yellow blocks are points where the player would transition from scene to scene: https://i.imgur.com/71TK5Vb.png

Another little mock-up made with voxels, and a loosely resultant 2d scene:

What we're looking for: Someone positive, + chill, interested in building a world. Actual 3d chops not required if you're a good match for our team and have some level design experience. You aren't required to work with any specific media, I just threw these examples together with voxels because it was quick and easy to learn.  We've got a very laid back, low-pressure thing going on. We both work full time in meat-space, and are interested in having fun and making something unique.

Some of my work so you can see what I bring to the table:
