I am at the start of chapter 3 but i am insanely busy between work and christmas preparations so i didn't play it at all the other day and will probably only be able to continue during the holidays. |

I am at the start of chapter 3 but i am insanely busy between work and christmas preparations so i didn't play it at all the other day and will probably only be able to continue during the holidays. please don't feel pressured, I understand this is a long ass game, so I don't intend to proselytise to and ultimately be murdered by the sentinelese until late 2019 |

I'm in Chapter 9 right now, this game is simply outstanding. I had a couple of fights that I can clearly define as transcendental because of how good they were

hello i spent 107 hours on this game. i unlocked both kiryu's and majima's legendary styles but slightly regret it, mainly because kiryu's real estate minigame is extremely boring. i ended up not even using those styles much during the finale.

i never unlocked the legendary styles because i do not have the patience and knew i would be tired of fighting by then. after a cleansing break of some months you should play kiwami, which has the 4th style unlocked from the start but gates its progression behind a different system which is also insanely tedious in a different way. i am glad that you enjoyed(?) your time |

I actually enjoyed majima’s cabaret club minigame, that’s sorta why i did it in the first place. I finished real estate out of a sense of.. completionism i guess? which is rare for me

Apologies for not reading 4 pages lol, but I'd like to say..
It's still weird seeing so much love for Yakuza after years of championing it since the PS2 days and people not knowing what game I'm even on about. But it is great.
I hope we see the feudal Japan games get translated. I tried to manually translate the ps3 one, I'd be on one block of text for 30 minutes!

Playing Kiwami now. The substories etc. seem somehow a bit unpolished compared to 0. I suppose since this is a remake it kinda suffers in comparison to 0 which kinda had years to polish its formula from the first game.
I'm still enjoying it a lot, especially the cut scenes about Nishikiyama's progress during Kiryu's prison sentence and many of the side characters such as Date, Shimano, Haruka and of course Majima. While the substories so far haven't been as funny as in 0, the main story picked up the pace faster than in 0 which I like.

A friend of mine told me that Yakuza 0 is the best of the series for the story. I only played Yakuza 0 (just finished the main story yesterday) and Yakuza 1 (PS2 version). In my opinion both are almost equal in term of story quality, maybe Yakuza 0 has a better progression and variety, but Yakuza 0 has a better focus on the main story around Kiryu, the girl and the main story (Yakuza 0 just looses focus on the main plot point sometimes).

if the non yakuza branded yakuza game that's supposed to be coming out in june gets canned or delayed because some guy did blow i'm going to be pissed off, in a culturally inexplicable manner to my japanese counterparts

Oh yeah, I heard about that. Is it like a way worse thing to be caught doing drugs in Japan than over here? Seems like firing the guy on the spot was a bit of an overreaction imho. They could have at least sent him to rehab or something.

it's insanely weird but since they did an English dub there's basically no leeway for a new Japanese performance to deviate much if at all from the original timing wise. If nothing else it'll be the oddest before and after comparison video ever
