We might know that there is a lot of projects on kickstarter end up fail to delivering the products, I myself have pledge several projects (not only game) but half of them has not delivered the products.

DO you think if indies doing kickstarter now a day.. can it still work out?? or maybe another platform? Indiegogo???

the boom time is over so unless you're an already famous developer or are willing to
go super low budget and live on sacks of beans and rice from amazon for the foreseeable future none of this shit is going to work

it's fundamentally idiotic/scammy/fucked up to have would-be customers act as investors in a business venture with the modification that they see none of the potential returns (which is the case for every game kickstarter I've seen and very different from regular patronage, which is fine and normal)

fuck is wrong with you all

they get rewards, copy of the product and work done for them via personalised content.
Have you seen game kickstarter that gives you nothing above $10-$20 or has $1000 pledge that gives you just $60 copy of product?
your post also smacks full of ideas of consummerist honor system, thats whole other topic

"rewards" for an investment into production instead of proportional share of possible profit is like when companies give workers free icecream instead of better pay

I'm not saying these pesky smalltime devs (though let's be honest, the successful ones now are mostly medium sized studios that already have secure funding) should stick to conventional methods of capitalism, I'm saying this shit would only make sense if the resulting products were freeware instead of, again, a business venture 100% of the time

it results in an upwards concentration of wealth which I'm pretty sure most normal people agree is a bad thing??

my mom buys me something
"wow, its fucked up that capital circulates inside atomic family structures and only way it escapes is to the capitalist corporations and not children outside those structures"

what if i told you that "business venture" here is "workers" and "ice-cream" is money they use for "food" which justifies working on creative project. Dont just bash capitalism or bring up theoretical projects, i know projects that got major part of funding through crowdfunding.

you have some rich guy dump $10000 for fursona to be made by dev who normally does not make minimal wage for example

it's a business venture when you're creating something as a bet on it being a successful product on a market which again is different from traditional patronage (which is something that provides artists with food while doing their work). the messed up thing is game kickstarters are still just 100% the investor model except the investor shoulders the entire risk and the business gets to keep the money without any obligation. If these were all freeware projects it would make sense and there wouldn't be a problem but that's never the case.

furry porn commissions are separate from this and more like a regular healthy patron situation
