tatsuya yoshida is the man. i don't find this "creepy" at all though tbh

EDIT: also it's worth noting that koenji hyakkei is basically him paying tribute to his fave band magma http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESO6cNDjxpI

Cool stuff. I'm not really used to amelodic rhythm-based stuff, so listening to that zeuhl band was a massive shock at first, plus it was my initially reaction to the operatic vocals and dissonance of the body of the song.

Magma's awesome.

I tried getting into Magma a few times. I like my prog and avant garde, but I don't get it. It's inoffensive though.

a good to way think about magma is: imagine if richard wagner used african rhythms and composed for jazz fusion bands rather than orchestras.

also the fake language they sing in was a huge hurdle for me. tbh it sounds like the fake german in charlie chaplin's the great dictator so it was very hard to take seriously at first (i also kinda stopped listening to them when i found out that christian vander apparently has a thing for hitler but thats another story).
