Just listened to Yoshi's Wooly World OST while programming for Glyph Gates, and it put me into a TOTAL frenzy.

listening to Calexico's Carried to Dust and drawing furry porn ostensibly.
Wait I forgot about posting about Carrie and Lowell here.
My prior experience with Sufjan was, uh, Illinoise, back when it came out, and I thought it was great and it was like, yeah, it had songs, but I didn't really get the impression that Stevens would ever put out something so uh personal and damaged? So it was kind of jarring to listen to at first. Also I feel like there are parallels between C&L and Sun Kil Moon's Benji, but I like C&L a looooot more.
wrt Talk Talk, I think I prefer Spirit of Eden to Laughing Stock but New Grass is one of my favorite songs ever.
Also, listening to more of Of Montreal's recent stuff. Loved Hissing Fauna, but Skeletal Lamping and False Priest both had this really weird congested? quality to them -- part of that was just like really bad mastering, part of that was it felt like the songs never really took the time to develop. Like trying too hard, but also in that... amateurish, all the songs are a little too fast and chorus-focused way?
I really like Paralytic Stalks a lot -- it's airy and it takes it's damn time with itself and I think maybe some of that's why it wasn't /critically/ received well, although it realllllly made me sad for some reason when it first came out (also that was around the time my dog's started getting sick) so uh... bad memories associated with it. Anyway, so I never checked out Sylvanbriar or Aureata Gloom, but I'm doing that now and they're definitely to my liking. They're still kind of dense though. I feel like I need to listen to them more to really /get/ them.
(also fkciang love that Kishi Bishi album from last year)

Listening to Purity Ring, especially their fantastic Another Eternity Album. https://soundcloud.com/purity-ringSo soothing and engaging, but not too disruptive if I'm trying to get some writing done. Works best when I'm doing art though.

"Meliora", the new album by everyone's favorite satanic pop metal band Ghost.
It's good, but imo not as consistent as Opus Eponymous. It's even poppier but somehow also less catchy. On OE, every single song was basically a singalong anthem. Not so here. Also less generic palm muted riffing and more cheesy horror organ pls. Somewhere between 3 and 4 inverted crosses out of 5 from me.
Btw its so weird how when I was a kid in the late 90s, the "satanic panic" was still in full effect. I remember there being a lot of controversy over whether people like Marilyn Manson or Slipknot "are satanists". It's remarkable how fast "devil worship" in rock/metal music turned into basically just another type of aesthetic. I mean in the 80s conservative Christians and "concerned parents" would play Twisted Sister records backwards to decode backmasked messages, these days a dude can dress up as the zombie pope and sing literal hymns to Satan and no one gives a shit lol.

everyone's favorite satanic pop metal band Ghost Haven`t listened to the album yet, but enjoyed the video to "Cirice". Also, when I first heard about the band, I thought it was something like Leviathan, and was really surprised by how soft the music actually is.

I wish the Japanese prog/folk band Ghost was still doin' things :< Listening to Radiohead - Hail to the Thief for the first time in a long time. I like it more than I remember! I should go listen to In Rainbows/Amnesiac/The Bends tho cause I always liked those more.

I wish the Japanese prog/folk band Ghost was still doin' things :< masaki batoh has a new band, the silence, including some other former ghost members. their album is pretty good. opening track literally sounds like a jrpg town theme lol. check out this neat can cover they did: im guessing he probably named the "new" band sth else to avoid confusion with the now more popular swedish ghost lol.

I have listening Charlotte Sometimes (The Cure) for three days. I want to read the book but it is expensive in my country.
Maybe I give a chance to Meliora. I'm protestant but I listen If you have Ghosts, Welcome Year Zero, I'm a Marionette and Crucified (and I always joke that satanism is for gays).
I listen it in an ironic manner. Welcome Year Zero remember my family and the people with I have worked in the past. Modern hedonistic satanists don't are evil if compared with them. The Ghost's idea of the Church sometimes matches with I think about modern christianity and about the people nature at general (i'm a bit girardian).

Super Session. It's almost a little bit depressing to hear how good Bloomfield was at his peak.

I was listening to the newish Tame Impala album but I'm not really feeling it. It also sounds like it was slowed down on purpose.
