The sonics were my heroes as a teenage punk/garage rocker. i still have two solo covers of "the witch" from back then in my music archive.

The Sonics are amazing and deserve to be much better known than they are. At least they seem to get recognition from other musicians as punk pioneers.

... although I think Death (the 1970s Detroit one) is a good contender too

Some dubstep and trap. Best music for programming. Show me what you got for dubstep stuffs, I've been looking for something new. Trance has been doing it for me lately

the monks win because their story is the weirdest: a couple of former GIs stationed in germany who somehow came to be managed by 2 young german art students who thought all the british invasion bands were too tame wanted to build up the monks into the ultimate beat group. they legit called the music "über-beat" and had plans of outselling the beatles with this music.

Hahaha, as soon as I read "german art students" I knew where this was going. Anyway, just discovered that the Sonics still tour and are still good

Hah! I wasn't even thinking of them specifically. I just know German artists and their art history
