Anyone here played with any of them?

From a purely theoretical/hypothetical standpoint, are there any that could be reprogrammed repeatedly/on-the-fly in real time?

I play with Arduino from time to time. Is that similar?

Ya I have too; but sadly not really.

It seems that the fastest an FPGA can be reprogrammed 'on the fly' (for the few that support it) is about 1-2ms.  Which is too bad.  I could see some very cool applications if they could be reprogrammed in the 1-2 us range.  Imagine a Vulkan implementation where each pipeline had a custom FPGA 'image' that would be uploaded to it when you selected that pipeline.  Or real-time deep neural nets.

Sadly it doesn't seems to be the way of things...
