So I'm starting a campaign to bring them back. If there's enough interest and we can't get the powers to be to grant us an official TIGSource Compo then I say we have an unofficial TIGSource Compo. There used to be a month long October Compo and October is fast approaching so now seems like a good time to get things moving. Please discuss. *EDIT Update here |

While we definitely would want to bring more events to the forum, all of us admins are kinda busy with real life stuff at the moment so, unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'd be able to properly organize an event like a month-long competition.
If you want to organize a less official event and need permission from us to do some things, then we'd be happy to help, but being in charge would be too much for us right now.

I'd happily organise a TIG Source Compo if it meant we could get these going again. The only issue with a community organised compo is that there wouldn't be a centralised place for all the game threads to be grouped together. When Derek organised them he could make a competition child board for all the entries to be in one place. If a solution can be found to get something akin to that then I don't mind doing all the work putting the rest together.

That's sorta what I meant when I said we'd be happy to help! If what you need is for us to create a child board to host the compo and you can take care of the rest, then we'd be happy to do that for you! Just say the word and when everything is ready we'll create the board.

Well I double checked and I've got permission from ProgramGamer to do a semi-official TIGSource Compo. The admins/mods will help out with the bits only they can do so it'll look as much like a proper TIGSource Compo as we're gonna get. Hopefully that'll be enough to get plenty of people hyped and involved.
