Hello! Welcome to my weird game's thread. The game is still unnamed, and as you can see it's nowhere near finished. I can assure you that the menacing T-pose will not make it to the final game. I'm a solo dev, doing the programming, art and music. The game is powered by my custom game engine, the same one I used to develop Speebot. I will be posting updates here, but you can also follow the development on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/kircode

I´m really loving the art style! Anything that let your pipeline be simpler and it is beautiful is awesome to me!

cool, minimal art style. I like how the trees are all silhouettes. reminds me of the lost woods from zelda

I like the use of contrast to create the play area but still make it feel like a wide open space.

Modeled a character and gave it idle and running animations. Really happy with how it turned out!

I'd love if you would resist to add anti-aliasing, smooth lighting or shading and keep it this simple. Could you please show the character flat-shaded, without gradients? Looks interesting, following.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. I'd love if you would resist to add anti-aliasing, smooth lighting or shading and keep it this simple. A video showcasing the character jumping and bouncing around: https://twitter.com/kircode/status/1047892467260043265P.S. Is there a way to embed webm or mp4 videos here? I want to avoid spamming animated GIFs due to quality and filesize considerations...

Hadn't realised you had a thread on here already! c: Really interested to see where this goes.
You can embed from YouTube so that's an option.

I've been adding more visual effects and designing sounds for the game. Since GIFs (fortunately?) have no sound support, and the video is too short to justify uploading to YouTube, you can see the latest footage here: https://twitter.com/kircode/status/1051148087853543425

It's been a long time since I've last posted here. Here's a HD video showcasing some of the gameplay: looks interesting!! What are your inspiration for the game?
Thanks, I don't really have any inspiration.

The artsyle works really well. It manages to look clean while also making the screen feel full, even this early. That is a bit odd to say I guess but I cant put it any other way. I'm also partial to the fact that you are not using any AA here, I always liked that myself, though I expect that is likely just cause the game is still early on in development. The colors are very nice too. If you haven't come across it, I would recommend taking a look at GARDEN, you may find it inspiring.
