So, I was told by an artist friend that this is the place to find artists interested in collaborating on small projects, so here I am!

While I am working on my own project full time, I am looking for a 2D artist/animator (pixel, vector, or hand drawn) who would be interested in collaborating on small, short quick games (like endless runners, clickers, etc) together during weekends or game jams. I'm not looking to build the next hit or the next big thing, just build things for fun and if that works out, potential rev-share as an "on the side" residual/trickling revenue stream.

This is what I'm looking for:
* Solid 2D skills (either pixel, vector, or hand-drawn).
* Commitment to completion and consistency in their art. Regular art streamers/releases are a bonus, as it shows consistency in art. If you've done and submitted game jams with people, such as Ludum Dare, bonus.
* Good communication skills and is able to communicate problems, issues easily without letting them build up into a problem.
* In the case of a rev-share project: able to commit, at least, several hours a week and will not ghost (this, honestly, has been the biggest issue I've had with trying to team up with people, excuses for not doing anything for a long time, then just ghosting). For fun projects, commitment isn't really an issue.
* Not a control freak or impatient about development; these will be a part-time / side-project endeavor, not full time projects. If we're not having fun with them, we're doing it wrong.
* Able to use voice chat such as Discord/Skype for communication, and has no issue with game development being streamed sometimes.
* For rev-share projects, willing to sign a contract or, at the very least, an official statement about how revenue (if generated) will be split: revenue would expected to be 50/50 after any costs, such as Steam submission costs, web hosting cost for the game (if any), or agreed upon software purchases, etc. Any cost for any project has to be agreed upon, clearly, in writing by both of us, so it's on record in case of any disagreement.
* Sociable and friendly; I have a fairly large circle of game dev friends/acquaintances, who are all super friendly and awesome, and mixing with them is kinda paramount for me.
* LGBT+ friendly; as I am, as are many of my friends who will no doubt be testing our games will be.
* Is not political; I don't care about political leanings, but I also do not want people who are obsessed with politics to the point it's all they talk about, or they espouse divisive politics regularly. I've had this issue before with someone, it didn't end well.

In return, this is what I offer...

* Complete programming in Godot, from beginning to end. While I am adamant about using Godot, I know and have experience in several languages, and have rudimentary experience in multiple engines.
* Animation (non-pixel animation)/video production, if necessary.
* Audio engineering of sound/audio, if necessary.
* Audio licenses for music/sound for our project(s). I already have these licenses paid for from my other business, they will not be counted against any development cost for the games we create should we do a rev-share project.
* Consistency in development. While I may take a break here and there to prevent burn out, I will stick to the task. I have been at my own project for over a year, and the games I'm looking to build should have a very quick turn around time.
* Business experience; I have owned my own content businesses, and service businesses in the real world.
* Chill demeanor; I am super easy to get along with, and while I may be very firm in game direction and keeping a game within scope of our abilities and release time, I am not overbearing or mean about it.

My LD games can be seen here: https://ldjam.com/users/lillybyte/games
My Patreon can be read here (it can get personal): http://www.patreon.com/lillybyte
My main project is here: http://www.dymoria.com (I'm not a web dev, sorry)
My Twitch can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/lillybyte
My Twitter (fairly new) can be found here: http://www.twitter.com/lillybytegames
My Discord: https://discord.gg/9qC3Tg

I do understand life can get in the way of development for side-projects/hobbies, and sometimes our own issues can too; and I am very understanding of that fact as I deal with life too. However, you need to be the kind of person who when knocked down, gets back on your feet and can get back at it. Smiley

Does this sound like a time to you? Are you interested? Give me a shout, let's chat! And if our personalities strike it off, let's build! I'm not looking for an immediate commitment or anything, I think to be a productive duo we need to chat, get to know each other, and see if our personalities and work ethics gel; no harm, no foul if they don't, right?

Let's see what we can build! Smiley

Also, I'm looking forward to getting know people on TIG! So hai! :D

Hey sounds like fun!  Gentleman

I'm an artist with lots of the wrong experience that wants to get lots of the right experience. If that hasn't turned you off -- let me 'splain. Most of my experience is with UI Design and development for web pages for big companies like eBay, Intuit, Stubhub  etc. I've always wanted to make games but life interrupted and frankly, I didn't know how to break in. Now, that I've decided to walk away from website work (I just don't like it anymore) I'm focused on getting the experience I need to break into character and environment design for games. Don't get me wrong, I'm a VERY capable and adaptable artist. You can see my work at:

I have used PS and AI et al. for decades now and I have some experience with ZBrush, Blender etc also. If you point me in the right direction I'll figure out how to get it done.

So, I think I can bring a professional quality to the game and you seem like a person I can learn from.

Let's make some games!

Cheers,

Hugh
