Gave the NPC some AI...





So I'm not entirely sure if the NPC's in the game are going to have AI or simply be animated actors, but I wanted to setup some basic AI to test out the animations.

A less than subtle reference to the movie It Follows (I adore it).

So in the last year I released Gears Tactics (here's a blog post about this), released a somewhat popular first person take on Super Mario Bros. (The Super 1-1 Challenge), quit my job at Splash Damage, moved into my new house with my girlfriend and then signed up with a small indie developer... so I had a short break on ND1, but I'm back!

It's taken some time to get back to where I was with this project as I left it in a real mess. However, I'm feeling positive that I'm going to make good progress this month.

In this video you can see footage of the Dugout - screen space reflections have been removed whilst I invesitgate why they have been giving me strange artifacts in the latest version of UE4.

I've been making slow progress as work on my 9-5 intensifies - nothing to worry about.

I'm still going back and forth on whether I include document pickups in the world to tell the story or I tell it entirely through environment...

Thanks! I really enjoy making mood pieces... I just need to make sure I keep working on the game too Wink

Here I added a very Resident Evil-esque notes system. There are still some issues (need to lock controls in/out of reading) but I'm super happy with it so far!
