Pangolins are possibly my favourites animal. They can walk on their hind legs and are just plain awesome. If only someone would put those in a game. Also yes. Maybe possibly not my most favoritest favorite animal, but certainly my favorite. Though I didn't realize exactly how awesome they are until you posted that and I started youtubing for them. Oh my.

Favourite thread on Tigsource <3.
I don't have any crazy-looking creatures to contribute but I do remember a few stories about weird animal behaviour.
There is a certain type of Japanese bee. They work together to take down wasps who are 50 times their size. The bees crawl all over the wasp until they cover it completely, and then they begin to rub their abdomens vigorously on the wasp's body. This causes the entire clusterfuck to heat up quickly. The bees have a higher resistance to heat - it takes roughly 2.5 degrees more heat to kill them. So the wasp burns to death while the bees survive.

Why is everything from Japan so awesomely violent and/or adorable? Because I would not be surprised at all if those things were cute as hell.

Two octopodes with too many tentacles A portuguese Man o' War, a siphonophorae. But the real deal is this other siphonophorae.

You know I can't watch gameplay videos of that game without shouting "FINISH HIM!!!" every few minutes. It's like Mortal Combat with Scorpions and Tarantulas. Hence I want it.

Totally, and the sad thing is, not many people have heard of Deadly Creatures (that I know of anyway). It's the kind of Wii game that needs to be supported.

I believe this is the colossal squid, another excellent animal. Interesting fact: nearing the end of its tentacles a colossal squid's tentacles lose their suckers and get hooks instead. They also team up to attack sperm whales.

I don't know if Hedgehogs are unusual enough for this thread, but they're my favorite animal, and I've had a few as pets:
