Minor update to my website to incorporate some of the feedback I've received here: http://www.geero.net/bible-games.html

Guys, look at this! I remember an old post about it from when I was still lurking the boards, but yeah. Mixing education (let alone theology) in games is pretty tough without seeming silly.

I'm pretty sure that website you linked to is a satirical one. It's on OBJECTIVE: Ministries, a parody site of born again Christianity by Chris Harper who is a satirist and atheist.

yes, it's funny how many people believe satire on the internet -- even when you explicitly say it's satire. there are tons of onion articles which people actually believed

Aw, SNAP. I totally fell for the Objective Ministries thing...

HOWEVER! Gave me a good laugh. And Tetris. TETRIS! That was great.

I love that you can really tell that the engine was for a wrestling game.

I've never heard of the guy, but is he actually militant? Has he ever used any form of violence in the name of atheism? Has there even ever been a satirist who was also militant?

Well, spurred on by this thread I've created a new blog celebrating the weird and wonderful world of the Old Testament, for anybody (of whatever religious persuasion or none) who finds the Old Testament intriguing enough to talk about: http://oldtestamentadventures.blogspot.com/.

Feel free to drop by and comment!

I think the part where you clotheslined Pontius Pilate kind of ruined the immersion.

Proposition:

BIBLETECH: Jesus Kills the Dinosaurs

Shirtless musclejesus with headband and machinegun. Kills all the dinosaurs so humans can have the earth. Great cities of the dinosaurs are falling--it's their apocalypse. Final boss is Satanosaurus.

Fun and educational experience.

ALTERNATIVELY!

Bibletech: Revenge of the Dinosaurs

Play as the last raptor traveling through the postapocalyptic landscape of fallen skyscrapers and burnt out buildings that once were part of his great civilization. The dinosaur civilization. Take on hordes of savage, uncivilized humans on your quest for revenge on the one who did this. Final boss is Jesus.
