Welcome to Spin Spy: The Man Who Turned.
Imagine Professor Layton has a child with James Bond...
(I mean who doesn't have a child with James Bond? )

The year is 1978, a mission in Austria goes terribly wrong, MI6's best agent Avocado Archibald, simply called A, dies in mysterious circumstances. The supervillain Maelstrom gets away and it turns out one of your friends in MI6 is a traitor who shot Archibald! But who is it?

Obviously messages self-destruct! Be careful about shaking things...

The biggest obstacle in finding the truth are the REALLY HARD puzzles!

About
Hey guys, I'm making a small game about spies and puzzles!
It's a bit jokey, but it comes from a place of love towards the genre. I've really enjoyed the siliness of spy movies and I'd like to create something in that world. Hence the Spin Spy, the spy who can only turn things!
Completely solo work, sadly...
A single episode for now. I'd like to make 3 episodes, now that I have the framework ready and all. Essentially it's a detective puzzle, or a brain teaser, one that you would tell a child and they will be stumped for a while and then they come back and say "Dad, mom says you can't tell me murder stories at bedtime"

What's the catch?

You can only rotate things here.
That's all.
I'm just making a fun little puzzle game about spies.

Follow the development on my discord! https://discord.gg/2JRjkku

Let me know what you think! And I will keep you updated on the progress!
Okay, that's all for now!

This looks really fun! I like how you're building puzzles into the usually straightforward part of examining clues in detective games. Can't wait to try the episode when it comes out!

Thank you!
That's exactly what I'd like to achieve! Probably the first episode (15-30 minutes) will be quite simplistic, it's mostly me learning what I can do with this idea. Every day there's more ideas I'd like to put in, luckily I  can just do it in the next episode!

Update!
Ambiance!

Consider me intrigued. I can't put my finger on it, but I already love the vibe the game gives off.

I'm in love with the color palette.

What does the acronym in MUFF brand luggage stand for?

MUFF is the secret organisation that's planning to topple the British society as we know it.
A different kind of SMERSH.
I haven't thought what it means yet as individual letters, I'm open to ideas!

The start Screen is finished!

I'm working on the story now, and polishing things I thought were done...

Which colour is better for text? I've been looking at this for so long it's kinda difficult for me to judge Shocked

Malicious Union of Fiendish Foes
Malcontents Undermining Freedom for Fun
Mysterious Unknown Fomenting Fellowship

As for the paper color, I think something halfway between the two would look nice. Can we see what that would look like?

Edit: I got impatient. I'm uncertain too, though. If I had to pick between the two originals, I think I'd go with the lighter.

Awesome title screen.

I feel you, and I like the vibe of secret manila documents.
The problem is with the text. My heart is saying "Go yellow" but my eyes are screaming "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING".

That's awesome! I'll do the color in-between, I like what you've done!
Ah I'll have to introduce a new shade to the palette. Oh well.
Thanks for your help!

I love Malicious Union of Fiendish Foes! Rolls nicely off the tongue. I think I'll go with that!
Sounds a bit like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

To update progress:
I'm working on puzzles right now.

"Fiendish Fellows" might work as well, which is even more like bespoke League.

^Heyo!

Yeah this game looks great, and I love the intro from the title screen.

I'll definitely have to circle back around and check in on this in the future.

I love the puns, guys!
That's why I'm making this game.

Okay so I'm back at it.

Good news - the game is 50% longer and more interesting puzzles and I've actually spent some time trying to make it more readable and more pleasing to the eye.
Dunno if I've succeeded, this project is more about me trying different stupid ideas.

Bad news- it took a while to get here. And I've had to scrap the previous story. Well, shit.
I do have more fun with the current story and it is definitely more interesting, so that's a good trade, but it took some time.

And I did redo the title screen for something simpler. I had tried to do it with the least effort possible and it showed, so now it's at least intentionally minimalist!

The plan now:
Finish the art. That's one day.
Then code the rest, that's like 4 days.
Then polish & sound. That's  3 days.
It's close to being done!
