Unlike other jams such as Ludum Dare that have an individual competition, GGJ is intended to be done with a team. Check out the Host Locations and find one near you. It's an opportunity to meet other local devs and work together on something.

Hey, I volunteered to set up and attended the https://globalgamejam.org/2016/jam-sites/victoria-global-game-jamVictoria BC GGJ2019. It was a sold out event this year with a ton of games produced by local Indie talent. It was really cool to see peeps get together and create as a team.  Our team at abgames will be sponsoring the next year as well as other local jams in the area.
