So I have tried to learn designing puzzle for my top down game for months now. I have played and watched a lot of puzzle related stuff and games. So I want just know If Im right track.

Here is list what I come with up.

- Each dungeon will have at least 2-3 different Puzzle mechanics
- In each dungeon I will teach to player rules of puzzle and later in dungeon I will challenge them with much harder variation.
- Puzzle catch needs to be logical.
- Mixing two different puzzle mechanics to make puzzle feel fresh. Their rules should also work together well.
- Simple puzzle but challenging to solve.
- Puzzle mechanics needs to be interesting.
- I want people solve puzzle by thinking and not by accident.

Did I miss some valuable lesson? In botw you can actually solve some puzzles many ways but Im not aiming for design like that.

I think you've listed what a good puzzle should be. In short it should challenge the player and make him feel intelligent when he solves it.

The difficulty is to come up with enough interesting mechanics so that the puzzles can renew themselves enough to keep the player challenged.
After that you need to practice and experiment until each puzzle feels good.
