MOON EATER is an indie game project about a child stumbling upon mystical forces residing in their new home island.
It's meant to be the focus of a devlog series by Ishified. If you like magical worlds and playing short story heavy games, Moon Eater might be for you.

I really enjoyed this devlog! The personal and relaxed style is super refreshing.

I also really like the art styles I'm seeing, and I think it's awesome you're making something to showcase Filipino lore, especially the lesser-known aspects.

I'm definitely following. Can't wait to hear more! Smiley

Thank you so much. We're working on making a proof of concept right now.

Can't wait to show how the actual game would look like.

New Devlog is live on youtube!

This time I talked about the concept art that was previously shown.
Some progress with the character and animations.
And a timelapse of the house I previously posted.

Here goes episode 2 of my Indie Game Devlog!

In here I explained our current solution to the Z ordering problem that we encountered in a previous build. There's also an update on more 2D assets. A look into how locations were added into the general island map. And a mention of a future major character.

We also hit 100 YT subscribers this week.Beer! Yay!

A little sneak peak for what's currently in the oven.

We tried using Probuilder and Polybrush to paint on the floor and make implementing areas easier. However, the tool is proving to be a little tricky. My scene view would sometimes get stuck into texture brush mode even when I click out of the object. And We're a bit worried about the polycount we'll eat through if we keep doing this for all areas. So we're looking for other solutions.

It's been 9 months since the last update and there's been a lot of changes since then! Crazy

This might be the last time I post on this thread until the project is revived again. Doesn't mean I'm done with indie game dev though!
