Started work on a prototype for a Low-Poly 3D Action game.  My goal is to adapt the intentional stiffness of something like a 16-bit Castlevania game into 3D space.

Thanks!  And, yeah, the Soldier Of/Valchion DevLog way back when definitely had an influence on me wanting to do low-poly-low-res stuff.

This week has been boss week.  I've modeled, animated, textured and implemented (first passes on) 4 of the games bosses (bringing the grand total up to 6!)

I wanted to have something akin to Sub-Weapons in Castlevania. However, I wanted also to keep the control simplicity of directions + 2 buttons, and obviously Up+Attack isn't a possibility since this game has 3d movement.  So what I did was added a charge attack. You can hold down the attack button for a charge attack that deals double damage.  The charge attack uses up some of your energy, which you can replenish by picking up items.  You can also pick up powerups (Charge-Weapons) that modify your charge attack to give it different secondary effects.
