Or smooth jazz, jazz funk... Anything jazzy, funky, fusion-y and instrumental please!
I'm always looking for new fusion folks to listen to. Here's a couple of my favs albums... but I have many more I could share hehe! :3

https://youtu.be/b5Vm7fGGR0A

And... btw! It's not limited to "real" music. There's plenty of fusion-like or other wise jazzy songs in video games.

i like regular style jazz. maynard ferguson is cool despite having a name that would otherwise exist only in the mind of an 80's screenwriter for the world's most uncool character

Woah this is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing :D I was never much into racing games... wish I was so I had known about this sweet as hell soundtrack.

I'll have to check him out, any particular stuff by him you especially like? For me, I enjoy regular jazz on occasion- but fusion just... I get a really nice feeling listening to it!

Btw, a friend recommended me a couple sweet albums- this one isn't fusion, more "just jazz" but it's great

And this one, haven't finished listening to it yet but so far to me it's RAD

(it's Christian too, as you may or may not know I'm a very religious & god fearing dinosaur ;3c)

he did a lot of cornball shit that isn't good like rocky stuff but i always liked the energy in this song, before the time when a darkness befell the land, and i still had an mp3 player with a hard drive in it, and i still listened to music

Phew that was pretty intense! Thanks for sharing. But I wouldn't "give it one"... I'd "give it ten"

Quite funky and pockety!

Neosoul, drunken beat

M. Zenon is a bit more traditional but his stuff is always conceptual and full of surprises.

Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles is pretty funky!!! Love the solo at 3:25, classic synth lead sound, very sweet composition~ Second guy singing has a set of pipes on him for sure! I will check out the other ones shortly, thanks for the recommendations :3

I definitely need to explore more Jazz Fusion.

Quite fond of Return to Forever.  I really like the synth work on this track.

A bit off-topic, but speaking of Jazz Fusion, it reminded me of this:

Woah that is some crazy synth work!!! I need to listen to more of this band! OwO;;;

Ooooh wait Chick Corea is involved in this band? I love his stuff from  the Chick Corea Elektric Band(Behind the Mask and Inside Out are really good albums btw)

Apparently too Victor Wooten toured with the Chick Corea Elektric Band too!? I didn't know that... I need to listen to more of his solo stuff

Oh yeah and that was an interesting video too! I knew that jazz fusion and city pop(and YMO) were hugely influential on a lot of Japanese VG composers but didn't know Koji Kondo was so into that stuff at the time.

I'm here mostly to scoop out all the recommendations. I don't have anything particularly special or unknown to offer that you lot don't know already. Maybe, if you want something on the smoother side of the spectrum, try Fourplay.

Oh I loooove foreplay! I mean Fourplay!

One of my favs. I didn't know this before listening to them but actually the original members of Fourplay played on a Casiopea album before forming Fourplay.

Oh also! I don't know if I put any Acoustic Alchemy here but I love them too.

A coworker years ago was listening to some really good music in the backroom. I asked him "Wow! Who is this!?" and he told me "Acoustic Alchemy." Another good find thanks to a coworker.

Another good AA.

Also, there's a few Yanni tracks that have an *almost* smooth jazz feel to them. Like this

I feel like with different instrumentation and jazz up the chords a bit this could be a smooth jazz track.

Sorry to triple post(please don't ban me) but damn sometimes YT recommendations just... nails it. Never heard this HH one before but so far it's fantastic.

I'm here mostly to scoop out all the recommendations. I don't have anything particularly special or unknown to offer that you lot don't know already.

And also put whatever kind of jazzy smoothy funky fusiony whatever type music you know here you want! But also feel free to scoop up any recommendations.

Okay one more too! It seems I never shared another good coworker recommendation- Azymuth.

But yeah you can't go wrong with... well, pretty much any musicians/bands here! HH's stuff is varied(He was quite an innovative guy, literally one of the greatest musicians to ever live) but all very good. Casiopea is all A++, Acoustic Alchemy is all good...

Another great HH album!!! Check out the asthetic album cover. He really was waaaaaaaay ahead of his time. He incorporated electronic stuff into his music very early on, had a Fairlight CMI early on, sorry to "suck his hancock" but damn he's good.
