For fun I put together this game exploring maze algorithms and css animations and javascript, to make a sort-of 3D maze exploration game.

The mazes are always generated randomly, and as you proceed through the levels the maze size increases. The number of gems to collect is a fraction of the total size of the maze, and the gems are also randomly placed. A map shows your place in the maze and fills in as you move.

Once downloaded it works without internet connection and saves state in local storage. Not sure it's actually that fun to play even if it was fun to make, so gladly take your hopefully constructive feedback, suggestions and ideas for further development! Smiley

Wow, thanks for playing a video! Was not expecting that! Smiley

Some good feedback, in summary:

  • I’ll fix the spelling on the intro
  • you liked the asthetic  Hand Thumbs Up Left
  • I’ll introduce shortcuts for picking up gems
  • The gems should appear quicker

Other ideas I have is to introduce the possibility to teleport back to a visited portion of the maze up to, say, 3 times per maze. And like you mentioned, upping the stakes by having some kind of guardians roam the maze. That will be significant effort to add in some kind of battle system but the game needs higher stakes. Also maybe including other things to collect like keys, and maybe making there be a puzzle to solve.

Excited to hear more feedback!
