Captain's log

I must be going mad! Surely that must be the answer! God, I pray that I am mad, for if the opposite were to be true, and in reality I'm the only sane one left in this cruel world, then everything is already lost. I am writing this note as plainly as I can, so that others may know of my tale and perhaps a slight hint of salvation might be found.

It all began in the year of our lord 1517. Our ship set sail from the Kingdom of Spain to the New World. The crew was in high spirits, drunk with the promises of adventures and riches, but there was none to be had. Miguel, my first mate, warned us on the dangers that lurk in these foreign waters.

The sea itself is alive.

Out of nowhere a storm blew us off course and tore the ship in half. To this day I know not whether my eyes deceived me or not, but just before losing consciousness, I distinctly remember seeing a giant serpent of sorts circling our ship. Whether a day or a week passed, I know not, but when I finally awoke I was alone. For days I searched the beach for my crew and my ship and found neither. I was stranded and alone in the New World.

Dream of Darkness (DoD) is an adventure-horror game in pre-production set in the XVI century. You play as Antón de Alaminos, a Spanish sailor who accidentally discovers the Aztec Empire. As you explore this ancient civilization you slowly begin to realize that something is very wrong in the New World. Something ancient and evil is about to awaken in the Heart of Tenochtitlán. Will you fight it or succumb to it?

Features
  • Story driven gameplay. The characters and plot change depending on your actions
  • Lovecraftian mysteries + the Aztecs, a new take on horror

Thousands of games are release each year, so how can an indie game stand out amongst the crowd?
