Play it on my website!

It's in an alpha state so there might be bugs/lag/unpolished mechanics. I took inspiration from RollerCoaster Tycoon, Sid Meier's Civilization, The Sims, and Will Wright's SimEarth. The soundtrack comprises of 8-bit chiptune covers of classical music, some songs were also used in Sid Meier's Civilization V, playing that game is how I first got into classical music.

I had the idea for this project way back in elementary school. Six years later and I am confident in my skills to see it through to fruition. Genesis is a 2D top-down pixel art strategy/sandbox game. The setting of Genesis is a rocky, inhospitable planet early in its development. Your job as an omniscient, all-powerful entity is to terraform the surface, customizing temperature and rainfall to create dozens of different climate combinations. A variety of biomes ranging from grassy meadows to sandy deserts to snowy glaciers are cool, but what would they be without lifeforms to live on them? Using a species-creating editor inspired by the editor from The Sims, you can customize various different body parts like arms, legs, claws, pinchers, heads et cetera to create your very own alien organism. The species editor is pretty rudimentary at the moment. More game updates will be on the way. Leave pictures of your creations in the thread if you'd like!

Here are some screenshots of what I have so far:
