So I do some sprite work. And it's okay. I use GraphicsGale, but I cannot animate anything due to a lack of gif support in the free version. Do you guys have any freeware alternatives to this or something? Thanks!

Microsoft GIF Animator
Really old program, but it should do everything you need. Just paste your frames from Graphics Gale.

I export as a sprite sheet and then compile it in Game Maker, which has an option for making anims from sprite sheets, which I do, because it has that option and...uhh

Oh yeah, I save from GM but since GM gifs don't have timing controls or looping I have to then open it in Take ONE 4 and adjust the timing, looping, and transparency, and then save it again and it's all good.

This just in: Xion's crazy and overcomplicates things. You could just export the individual files and import them as frames into some basic gif-making program, like uh, this take one program. So pretty much you could do what xion does only just skip the whole GM part, and he doesn't want to because he's insane.

I didn't know it could do that.

But I didn't look very hard either.

That smiley's gonna give me nightmares.

EDIT: It appears that Microsoft GIF animator makes everything old and grainylike. EXAMPLE!

So are there any other options? Or am I doomed to a life of unmoving sprites?  Cry

If you have 20 bucks to spare: a GraphicsGale license costs about that much. If you like the program, why not get a license for the full version?

You should make it so he's up as much as he's down, it will make the stride look smoother.
