Hi everyone!

I'm currently working on making Spin! Plus, it will have 50 more levels then the first game as well as many improvements and 3 challenging mini-games.

Finally, after 3 months long pause, I decided to start my new game project.

The idea for this new game is that you have to get the ball to the goal (very unique, I know). The twist is that you can't
really move the ball but rather you
have to rotate platforms and use them to push the ball around.

I like physics-based games and puzzles so this idea should combine the best of both worlds.

When it's done this game should have 20-30 levels + maybe an Endless mode.

ARCHIVED VERSION OF INTRO POST

Hi everyone!

Finally, after 3 months long pause, I decided to start my new game project.

The idea for this new game is that you control a ball and you have to reach the goal (very unique, I know). The twist is that you can only move with your mouse (when you left-click the ball jumps in certain direction).

I like physics-based games and puzzle platformers so this idea should combine the best of both worlds.

When it's done this game should have around 30 levels + Endless mode.

To end this devlog, I'll leave you with short GIF I made to demonstrate the mechanic:

Since last devlog I experimented with different styles of movement, at the end I figured that it would be a good idea to add jump limit for each level.
This should add a puzzle element to this game.
I still have to figure out some things but this is what I have for now.  Coffee

Hello everyone!

Since my last devlog there were quite a few drastic changes I made to the game. I actually changed the whole concept of the game.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT?
Well, in terms of gameplay, basically everything. You still need to get the ball to the end goal but now, instead of controlling the ball, you can rotate
specific platforms which allows you to move the ball.
I think that GIF explains it much better than I can.

WHY?
I felt that my previous idea was a bit too generic. Even though it had a cool control scheme, it still felt like "just another platforming game".
I made a stupid mistake of not prototyping enough before starting the development.

WHERE TO FOLLOW THE DEVELOPMENT?
The game in its core is still the same, you have to get the ball to the goal, so I'll just continue posting my devlogs like it's the same game.

How about keeping both ideas? I think you can design cool interesting levels around both concepts and having both will give some sense of progression. You can start with controlling the platforms, then controlling the ball, and then controlling both at the same time Smiley

Thanks for the idea  Smiley, but I think focusing on one thing and trying to make that one thing really good is best for this game.

Hi everyone!

Since my previous devlog I made 15 more levels and added some new game mechanics as well.
In total the game now has 25 levels. I'm currently working to add endless mode as well, I think it fits in nicely with the physics-based nature of the game.

Here's whats new in terms of mechanics:

Pistons - when you press space piston moves up and when you release space it goes back down. It can push the ball if you time it right, it can also be used to
prevent the ball from moving if you activate it in the right moment

Moving obstacles - they behave exactly as you'd expect them to Smiley

Besides this I've also did some minor adjustments to color pallet, added tutorial, as well as fixed some bugs.

That's it for now! I hope that this game will soon be ready for release. Can't wait to hear how you like it.

For now, I've made a new color pallet. What do you think?

Hey everyone!

There is now new type of platform in Spin! Plus.
This platform can only rotate in one direction. It's meant to force you to think a bit outside the box and find some not so obvious solutions Blink

Here's the showcase of it:

Hi everyone!

I added one more type of platform to Spin! Plus.
This one rotates constantly. It makes you consider timing more while you play.

Here's the showcase:
