Absolutely everything is 100% original - sprites, backgrounds, S.E., music.

What Is This Game?
Meskhenet is a dark, adventure, platformer, role-playing game. You come back from a visit to your parents' graves to see sudden terror has erupted in your home city. Who is behind this? You're willing to fight to seek answers. However, Meskhenet is no ordinary protagonist and he will be tested psychologically. What is Meskhenet's destiny? Are you destined for good, or will you become corrupt in the end...

Here is the game's prologue dialogue:
"I never got the chance to meet you.
I wonder what you were like...
Yet I'll never know...
I wish you had stayed...
Even for just a while...
So you could give me the answers to all these questions...
Mother and father...
I'd better head back home now. It's getting late and I'm working at the store tomorrow morning.
This job is the only thing I have to take me away from all of the questions.
Questions that will never be answered...
"

I am not beta-testing yet, I have produce a demo however do not want to release it due to the current lack of quality.

Devlog 2 - Meskhenet
I promise to release a newly updated demo in less than 2 days! Here is an example of how much the visual has improved since beginning the game:

Most Recent Demo Version – ‘1.4’

Upcoming Features/Additions
+ Dramatic improvements to visuals
+ New Intro!
+ New area: water path
+ New action! Commando roll for main character
+ Watermark removed
+ Elimination of many bugs
+ Many detection lasers in the laboratory! Which trigger sirens!
+ Bats and snakes outside!
+ Rain outside

Extra Section
Suppose you were to come upon someone in the woods working feverishly to saw down a tree.
"What are you doing?" you ask.
"Can't you see?" comes the impatient reply. "I'm sawing down this tree."
"You look exhausted!" you exclaim. "How long have you been at it?"
"Over five hours," he returns, "and I'm beat! This is hard work."
Well, why don't you take a break for a few minutes and sharpen that saw?" you inquire. "I'm sure it would go a lot faster."
"I don't have time to sharpen the saw," the man says emphatically. "I'm too busy sawing!"
Reference: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen Covey)

For me it's not been over 5 hours but rather over 5 years. However, my work has been: on-and-off, inconsistent and indecisive.

However, I am not giving up, in fact I'm very determined to finish my game as soon as possible.

Once I release this next demo in less than 2 days, before resuming my work on the game I am going to focus on sharpening the saw for a day or a few which will help my finish my game. I am also going to make the planned-size of my game smaller, eliminating the plans for 1 maybe 2 areas in later parts my game.Speaking of sharpening the saw, the number 1 thing I wish I knew when beginning my work which would have saved me countless hours:
1. Use colour palettes and use small ones: bigger colour palettes increases production time.

Thank you sincerely for your feedback and support on my current development.

I just saw screenshot with rain effect, definitely you need to break down rain drops into more messier, unrecognizable pattern.
And I think if you do such a slanting rain - you have to show somehow that wind velocity is high, bending trees, fluttering clothes or hair, for example...

Thank you for the advice coremission. I agree that a more messier, unrecognizable pattern would be better. I also agree with your second point.

Devlog 3 - Meskhenet

Upcoming Features/Additions in next demo
+ New areas:
⦁ Grassy Plains East
⦁ Second City
⦁ Grassy Plains West
⦁ Hideout
+ Credits to everyone that has supported me by giving me feedback!
+ Watermark removed
+ Elimination of many bugs

Extra Section
In my last devlog I talked about 'sharpening the saw' and making my game creation process faster. What I have done to sharpen the saw:
- I have completely cut 3 unnecessarily planned areas from my game.
- I am going to finish programming the game with my current graphics rather than constantly changing all my graphics. I will edit the graphics and import the final graphics at the end.

Good news - Thanks to these two points, I am starting to get a lot faster at working on this game, finally getting things done. I'm very determined to finish my game as soon as possible.

Thank you sincerely for your feedback and support on my current development.

Thanks to the help of many members on these forums I have significantly improved the graveyard's graphics:

Thanks to the help of many members on these forums I have significantly improved the city areas' graphics:

Meskhenet 1.2.1 Patch Changes
⦁ Rain is less thick and the animation has more frames so it looks better.
⦁ Two of the PSI building rooms looked very similar which made it confusing as to where you are. These two rooms are now more uniquely identifiable and different from one another.
⦁ After the conversation with the child, it was not obvious that you need to take him back to the old man. "I need to find someone who can take care of this child," text has been added to end of dialogue with the child.
⦁ The lasers in the lab used to start 'off', which meant the player is unlikely to notice them until they caught by them. Lasers are now started in the 'on' part of their cycle.
⦁ Something new happens when you are detected by the lasers and the siren goes off!
