BTW, I notice you're using ordered dithering. I recently came up with a simple technique that lets you construct "hybrid" dithers:

https://observablehq.com/@jobleonard/ordered-error-diffusion-dithering

Maybe there's something in there that could work for creating the grainy noise that you want in the levels too? Instead of putting it in the tiles, store the tiles at a higher bit-depth and then dither the screen real-time?

Uau, that is a very complete and interactive article, outstanding stuff!
I will sure be drinking on it. Smiley

I currently enjoy doing mixed dithers by "hand", that is, cutting layers on photoshp, reducing colors on each separately, and applying different dithers for each color band. It is very time consuming but I enjoy doing so.
I also experiment with Dan Fessler techniques  as described here:
http://danfessler.com/blog/hd-index-painting-in-photoshop
Specially with old computer´s palletes.

Thanks a lot for sharing @JobLeonard, really great!

As with Gravedigger ex, I´m creating an itchio page now and hope to publish it in the next few days. Smiley
The 1.0 build is pretty much done and I hope to support a couple "alien" platforms like the Cannoo and the marvelous Pandora...maybe even the awesome Pyra as I heard the first prototypes are out. Wink

I will get into the reasons later and also will update this thread name if I can.

Too late, I already bought myself a copy. Now if you would support Linux that would be great Wink

Thanks @JobLeonard !
I´m just finishing a Pandora version which I hope also runs on the Pyra.

Linux is possible and I can also compile my other games for it, problems are:
I don´t have the OS installed and am super noob with it, what would be a standard? Mint, Debian?
I can do a 32bit compilation but can´t trouble shoot if something bad happens, therefore I can´t sell it If I can´t fix it.
Last time I tried people refused to try 32bit executables for whatever library reasons and I got lost.
Maybe in the future?

I got some gifts Id like to share with you but will do in a few days, thanks again.

I also would like to do a bit of post-mortem but will as I make sure all is out and working.

Thanks again, let me know what you think and your criticism on it. Cheers!

Just played the game a bit - it was very enjoyable!  Music was great, SFX were great, graphics were great. Enjoyed that the menu transitions were super quick.  Animations were super good, menu graphics very cool.

My highest score was 15 after 10 plays. I am left wondering what I can do as a player to increase the amount of loot dropped.  I tried breaking all of the graves and digging in front of the graves (I thought maybe I could dig up loot).

@JobLeonard , not yet for the Pyra but the for the Pandora. Smiley
It should not be too hard to have it on the Pyra though but only a few prototypes are out and it might be tough to get someone with one to help me out with it.

@marcAKAmarc , I think I should have added more info on that in-game but the thing is, you don´t need to fully destroy the tombs nor dig their front ground (though this will prevent zombies to be born on it, might be of strategic use), just crack them. If you crack all tombs and have the key, then zombies will drop all available loots randomly, problem is that, as you crack tombs, the maximum number of zombies increase. If all cracked, loot will show up, but you will have to deal with ~13 zombies. Smiley

in code, it works this way:

# of cracked tombs      treasure that can appear
2                       coins
4                       silver bar
6                       gold bar
8                       diamond ring
10                      pyra handheld

as for the amount of zombies, it goes like this:

game turn     # of zombie
1             2
40            3
60            4
80            5
100           6
120           7

Each treasure you get adds another zombie, get them all, +5 zombies in game.
Get the key and it adds another zombie.

So in total, over turn 120 and with all treasures, one might have to face 13 zombies, better the exit be close by Wink

One final note. The more zombies on screen higher the chance one will drop a treasure very far away. If the level is already collapsing... one needs to be jonh wick to be able to retrieve it, hence digging in front of some tombs to prevent zombies to be born there.
This might sound like spoiler...but wont make the game any easier. Smiley more zombies will raise close to you.
