For freedom: there is a lot more to that than just basic needs, freedom of thought, freedom of expression, I've even lamented the fact that we are not free of the laws of physics.
For politics == everything: politics is one of the many frameworks you can view the world through but it is no more correct to say everything is politics than it is to say everything is sexual or everything is religious. It is a powerful tool of thinking to frame everything through that structure, and it is good for people to be able to decode that language, but after you can put everything into that logical code you can do more.
Also, I'm not really sure what deep political point of view something like spongebob has, I guess you could say its pro-capitalism but its very soft with how it portrays that.

I think most sponges have world views like everyone else. They probably don't see themselves as political. Writers are writers, and whatever works for the episode is what goes. You can connect your world view to one you disagree with and call it politics, but at the end of the day he's just trying to live the Bikini Bottom dream and never encounters anyone he would get into a political debate with. Maybe it's just his neighborhood, IDK.
